Francisco López De Zúñiga, 2nd Marquis Of Baides
Francisco López de Zúñiga y Meneses, 2nd Marquis of Baides and Count of Pedrosa ( Villa de Pedrosa, Spain; 1599–1655) was a Spanish soldier who served as Royal Governor of Chile from May 1639 to May 1646. The son of Francisco López de Zúñiga y de la Cerda and María Meneses y Padilla. López de Zúñiga was a knight of the Order of Santiago and Count of Pedrosa. He was married to María de Salazar in 1636. For 16 years he served in the Spanish army, fighting in Flanders and Germany. In 1639 he was named Governor of the Captaincy General of Chile. During his rule, corruption flourished. However he liked the Jesuits and admired Fr. Luis de Valdivia, and he brought gifts to make a new agreement with the natives. In 1641 he held the Parliament of Quillin, in the Quillin River valley, with the toqui Lincopinchon and established the first peace in the Arauco War with the indigenous Mapuche people. Ilocano literature or Iloko literature pertains to the literary works of writers of Ilocano ancestry regardless of the language used - be it Ilocano, English, Spanish or other foreign and Philippine languages. In Ilocano language, the terms "Iloko" and "Ilocano" are different. Generally, "Iloko" is the language while "Ilocano" refers to the people or the ethnicity of the people who speak the Iloko language. Ilocano literature in the Philippines is one of several regional Philippine literatures. Francisco López De Gómara
Francisco López de Gómara (February 2, 1511 - c. 1566) was a Spanish historian who worked in Seville, particularly noted for his works in which he described the early 16th century expedition undertaken by Hernán Cortés in the Spanish conquest of the New World. Although Gómara himself did not accompany Cortés, and had in fact never been to the Americas, he had firsthand access to Cortés and others of the returning ''conquistadores'' as the sources of his account. However other contemporaries, among them most notably Bernal Díaz del Castillo, criticised his work as being full of inaccuracies, and one which unjustifiably sanitised the events and aggrandised Cortés' role. Francisco "Chaleco" López Contardo (born 15 September 1975 in Curicó, Maule Region, Chile) is a rally raid, motocross and enduro motorcycle rider and Off-road racing driver. He's a veteran of the Dakar Rally, having made his first start on a bike in 2007, and has since then won the rally the UTV/SSV (T4) class in 2019 & 2021; and, in the Lightweight Prototypes (T3) class in 2022. He also took part in inaugural edition of the World Rally-Raid Championship in 2022, winning in the T3 category. López began riding motorcycles at 4 years of age through the encouragement of his father Renato López, a national motocross champion. His nickname ''Chaleco'' comes from the Spanish for ''vest'', particularly the vest used for race protection.
