Francisco Expedito Lopes (July 8, 1914 – July 2, 1957) was a Brazilian Catholic bishop. Biography He was born in Sítio Jerusalém (Vila de Meruoca) in Sobral, in the state of Ceará. He was ordained a priest in Rome in 1938, holy bishop in Sobral in 1948, and was elected first bishop in Oeiras, in the state of Piauí Piaui (, ) is one of the states of Brazil, located in the country's Northeast Region. Piaui (, ) is one of the states of Brazil, located in the country's Northeast Region. The state has 1.6% of the Brazilian population and produces 0.7% of the Brazilian GDP. Piaui has the shortest coastline of any coastal Brazilian state at 66 km (41 mi), and the capital, Teresina, is the only state capital in the northeast to be located inland.
