Francisco Coll García
Francisco Coll (born in 1985 in Valencia) is a Spanish composer. Biography Francisco Coll studied trombone at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatoire of Music in Valencia and the Madrid Royal Conservatory, graduating with the Honour Prize. He studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Richard Baker (composer), Richard Baker with the support of the Instituto Valenciano de la Música (IVM) Scholarship and the Guildhall Trust, and privately with Thomas Adès. He completed a master's degree in composition with distinction in 2010, winning the Ian Horsburgh Memorial Prize for the best postgraduate composition, and currently is a Fellow at Guildhall. His first commission, ''"...Whose name I don't want to remember"'' (2005) for double brass quintet, was premiered in Avery Fisher Hall of the Lincoln Center of New York, by Canadian Brass and the brass section of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. BBC Symphony Orchestra
The BBC Symphony Orchestra (BBC SO) is a British orchestra based in London. Founded in 1930, it was the first permanent salaried orchestra in London, and is the only one of the city's five major symphony orchestras not to be self-governing. The BBC SO is the principal broadcast orchestra of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The orchestra was originally conceived in 1928 as a joint enterprise by the BBC and the conductor Sir Thomas Beecham, but the latter withdrew the next year and the task of assembling and training the orchestra fell to the BBC's director of music, Adrian Boult. Among its guest conductors in its first years was Arturo Toscanini, who judged it the finest orchestra he had ever conducted. Manuel Galduf (born 1942 in Llíria), is a Spanish Orchestra conductor. Career Galduf studied at the Valencia Conservatory of Music (Orchestra musical direction, composition, violin, piano and oboe), having among his teachers Valencian composer Manuel Palau. He undertook postgraduate education with Volker Wangenheim (German conductor) and Igor Markevitch (Ukrainian conductor). Professor Galduf and Markevich developed an intense professional relationship being considered Markevich's favorite postgraduate student in the early 1960s.
