Franciscan Cup
The Franciscan Cup is an annual men's basketball contest played between two of the four NCAA Division-I Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities member schools. Prior to the creation of the Franciscan Cup, the two teams had played semi-regularly with St. Bonaventure leading the series with a 25–7 record. Siena Saints Men's Basketball
The Siena Saints men's basketball team (formerly the Siena Indians) represents Siena College in Loudonville, New York, United States. The NCAA Division I program competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the annual Franciscan Cup. The Saints are currently coached by Carmen Maciariello. He was named the program's 18th head coach in school history on March 25, 2019. Siena plays its home games at the 14,500 all-seater MVP Arena in downtown Albany. Since 1988, the team has appeared in six NCAA Tournaments ( 1989, 1999, 2002, 2008, 2009 and 2010) and five NIT Tournaments (1988, 1991, 1994, 2000, and 2003). Siena has advanced to the Round of 32 three times in program history. In 1989 they defeated 3rd seeded Stanford 80–78. Association Of Franciscan Colleges And Universities
The Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities (AFCU) is an association of over 20 Franciscan colleges and universities and is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The group is varied, ranging from large and established universities, to junior colleges, to newer institutions. Most of the schools are located in what is now called the American Rust Belt, reflecting the activities of the Franciscan movement in the United States. Surprisingly, few Franciscan institutions are located in the Southwest, an area first settled by Franciscan missionaries. Reilly Center
Reilly Center, previously known as University Center, is a 5,480-seat multi-purpose arena, in St. Bonaventure, New York, United States. It is home to the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies men's and women's basketball teams. The arena opened in 1966 and is named for Carroll "Mike" Reilly, who coached both varsity football and basketball at the university. In 2007, the playing surface was named "Bob Lanier Court" in honor of former Bonnies and NBA great Bob Lanier, who led the Bonnies to the Final Four in 1970. It is the third-largest basketball arena in Western New York (behind the over 18,000 seats in KeyBank Center and the 6,100 seats in Alumni Arena at the University at Buffalo North Campus) and has the highest seating capacity of any sports venue in Cattaraugus County and the western Southern Tier. Times Union Center
The MVP Arena (originally Knickerbocker Arena, and then the Pepsi Arena and Times Union Center) is an indoor arena located in Albany, New York. It is configurable and can accommodate from 6,000 to 17,500 people, with a maximum seating capacity of 15,500 for sporting events.
