Francis Huré
Francis Huré (5 October 1916 – 4 November 2021) was a French resistant, diplomat and writer. Biography Huré was born in Abbeville in October 1916. During the Second World War, he joined Free France and the 2nd Armored Division (France). He later became ambassador of France in Cameroon (1965–1968), in Israel (1968–1973), then in Belgium (1973–1980), experiences he recalled in the series ''Martin''. Huré died on 4 November 2021, at the age of 105. Abbeville
Abbeville (; ; ) is a commune in the Somme department and in Hauts-de-France region in northern France. It is the of one of the arrondissements of Somme. Located on the river Somme, it was the capital of Ponthieu. Geography Location Abbeville is located on the river Somme, from its modern mouth in the English Channel. The majority of the town is located on the east bank of the Somme, as well as on an island. It is located at the head of the Abbeville Canal, and is northwest of Amiens and approximately from Paris.
