Francis Ford (actor)
Francis Ford (born Francis Joseph Feeney; August 14, 1881 – September 5, 1953) was an American film actor, writer and director. He was the mentor and elder brother of film director John Ford. He also appeared in many of the latter's movies, including ''Young Mr. Lincoln'' (1939) and ''The Quiet Man'' (1952). Biography Ford was born in Portland, Maine. He was the son of John Augustine Feeney, who was born in the village of Spiddal, County Galway, Ireland, on June 15, 1854. His mother was Barbara "Abbey" Curran. By 1878, John had moved to Portland, Maine, and opened a saloon, at 42 Center Street, that used a false front to pose as grocery store. John opened four others in following years. Francis Ford (cricketer)
Francis Gilbertson Justice Ford (14 December 1866 – 7 February 1940) was a cricketer. Francis Ford was educated at Repton School and King's College, Cambridge. He played first-class cricket for Middlesex County Cricket Club, Cambridge and the Marylebone Cricket Club between 1886 and 1899 as a useful left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He also played five Test matches for England on their tour to Australia in 1894-95. Gilbert Jessop said that Ford was the most graceful of left-handed batsmen. He top scored with 191 when Cambridge University made its highest ever total of 703/9 v Sussex in 1890. Edmonton (provincial Electoral District)
The Edmonton provincial electoral district also known as Edmonton City from 1905 to 1909, was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada mandated to return members to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1905 to 1917 and again from 1921 to 1959. The Edmonton electoral district existed in two incarnations from 1905 - 1909 and again from 1921 - 1955, with the city (small as it was in former times) broken up into separate single-member constituencies in the other time-periods. The district was created when Alberta became a province, to encompass residents of the city of Edmonton on the northside of the North Saskatchewan River. Francis Joseph William Ford (December 23, 1882 – May 26, 1975) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Education and career Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Ford spent his childhood in South Boston and attended the Boston Latin School. He received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Harvard University in 1904, where he met Franklin D. Roosevelt. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1906 but did not receive his Bachelor of Laws until 1907 due to the fact that he could not afford the $20 diploma cost. He was in private practice of law in Boston from 1906 to 1933. He was a member of the Boston City Council from 1917 to 1922. Sir Francis Clare Ford (4 June 1828 – 31 January 1899) was an English diplomat from London. Ford was born at was born at 32 Upper Brook Street, London, and was the son of writer Richard Ford and his wife, Harriet. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the 4th Light Dragoons. However, he left the army in 1851, entered the diplomatic service, and became Secretary of Legation at Washington, D.C., where he was acting chargé d'affaires in 1867–1868. In 1871 he was appointed Secretary of Embassy at St Petersburg and in 1872 was transferred to Vienna.
