Francis Cui Qingqi
Francis Joseph Cui Qingqi (崔庆琪) is the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hankou ( Wuhan) in China. He was ordained as bishop on September 8, 2021. Biography He was born in Xiangyuan County in Shanxi Province of China in February 1964. He entered seminary to become a priest in Wuhan in 1987 and was ordained on 8 December 1991. In December 2012 Fr. Francis was appointed as the administrator of the Wuhan diocese and Vicar of the Cathedral, after the previous administrator of the diocese Father Shen Guoan was dismissed for disloyalty to the Chinese government. In 2016 he was appointed as deputy secretary of the state-controlled (although not Vatican recognized) Bishops' Conference of the Catholic Church in China. Ordination The Chinese government amalgamated three neighbouring dioceses, including the Archdiocese of Hankou, into the diocese of Wuhan, without approval from the Vatican. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kunming ( la, Coenmimen(sis), ) is an archdiocese located in the city of Kunming in China. The Archdiocese has not had a legitimate, Vatican-appointed Archbishop since 1952, when French Archbishop Alexandre Derouineau was expelled from China in the aftermath of the Chinese Communist Revolution. The government of the People's Republic of China installed Father Kong Lingzhong as archbishop in 1962 and Father Joseph Ma Yinglin as archbishop in 2006. Joseph Shen Bin (born 23 February 1970) is a Chinese prelate of the Catholic Church who serves as Bishop of Shanghai and president of Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. He was Bishop of Haimen from 2010 to 2023. Biography Joseph Shen Bin was born into a Catholic family on 23 February 1970 in Qidong, in the province of Jiangsu. Joseph Li Shan (; born March 1965 in Daxing District, Beijing) is a Chinese Catholic prelate who serves as Archbishop of Beijing. He was consecrated a bishop on 21 September 2007, at age 42 at a ceremony at Nan Tang (South Cathedral) in Xuanwumen. His main consecrator to become bishop was John Fang Xingyao. Joseph Ma Yinglin (Chinese: 馬英林; born 1965) is the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association-sponsored Bishop of the diocese of Kunming, China. He was consecrated a bishop on 30 April 2006, at age 41. The diocese had been vacant for 11 years. The ordination of Bishop Ma went ahead without the approval of the Vatican. For some years, there had been an informal arrangement whereby new bishops for Chinese Catholic dioceses sought approval from the Pope prior to ordination.
