Francis Boateng (born 11 March 2000) is a Ghanaian footballer who currently plays as a defender for Ghana Premier League side WAFA. Club career Boateng his professional career with West African Football Academy in January 2017He made his debut on 25 June 2017 after coming on in the 70th minute for Ibrahim Abukari in a goalless draw against Bolga All Stars. He played 4 league matches in his debut season as the club placed 2nd on the league table, their highest since entering the Ghana Premier League. In his second season, the 2018 season he played a more important role by playing 11 out of 15 league matches played as the league was cancelled due controversies surrounding the GFA due to the Anas Number 12 Expose. At the end of the season, he joined Portuguese team F.C. Famalicão and was drafted into their youth side and subsequently to the U23 side between July 2018 to June 2020. The Ghana national U-17 football team, known as the Black Starlets, is the youngest team that represents Ghana in football. They are two-time FIFA U-17 World Cup Champions in 1991 and 1995 and a two-time Runner-up in 1993 and 1997. 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the 17th FIFA U-17 World Cup, a biennial international football tournament contested by men's under-17 national teams. Organised by FIFA, the tournament took place in India between 6 and 28 October 2017, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 5 December 2013. The tournament marked the first time India have hosted a FIFA tournament and the first Asian country to host U-17 World Cup since United Arab Emirates in 2013. The attendance for this World Cup was a record 1,347,133 surpassing China's record in 1985 with 1,230,976. The matches were played in six stadiums in six host cities around the country, with the final taking place at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. West African Football Academy (WAFA) Sporting Club is a Ghanaian professional football club based near Sogakope in the Volta Region that was founded by Feyenoord from Rotterdam. They are competing in the Ghana Premier League. The 2016–17 season was a successful one for WAFA as the side finished second in the Premier League, beating Hearts of Oak 5–0 along the way. History Feyenoord's chairman Jorien van den Herik was given permission for the opening of Feyenoord's own football academy in the Ghanaian settlement of Gomoa Fetteh, just outside the capital Accra. The go-ahead was given by the Chief of Fetteh in 1998 and the academy was opened in October 1999. At Feyenoord Academy, young talented African footballers could work on their football skills.
