Francesco Negri (Antitrinitarian)
Francesco Negri (1500 in Bassano – 1563) was an Italian Protestant reformer and exile in Switzerland, then Poland. He was first a Benedictine at the Monastery of Santa Giustina in Padua then in 1525 left for Germany. Francesco Negri (; 27 March 1623–27 December 1698) was an Italian Catholic priest who, during 1663–1666, travelled in Scandinavia. In 1670, he published an account of his travels entitled ''Viaggio settentrionale''. Biography Negri was born in Ravenna, then part of the Papal States, and left his home city in 1663 to set out on his travels. When the middle-aged priest left his hometown of Ravenna and undertook a three-year voyage in Scandinavia, he became the first. Thus he was seen as unusual for an Italian by the Scandinavians in travelling independently, reflecting the contemporary image of his compatriots by other nations. As an example, King Frederick III of Denmark expressed surprise at seeing him so far from home. Francesco Negri (photographer)
Francesco Negri (18 December 1841 – 21 December 1924) was an Italian photographer known not only as a pictorialist but for his innovative work in photomicroscopy, in the development of the telephoto lens, and for his early experiments in Louis Ducos du Hauron’s techniques of colour photography. His scientific and cultural pursuits included botany and local history: in both fields his publications remain significant. He served as Mayor of Casale Monferrato. In the meantime by profession he was a lawyer.
