Franc Roddam
Francis George "Franc" Roddam (born 29 April 1946) is an English film director, businessman, screenwriter, television producer and publisher, best known as the creator of ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'' and the director of ''Quadrophenia'' (1979). He is a graduate of the London Film School. Career Roddam's films include ''Quadrophenia'', '' K2'', ''Aria'', ''The Lords of Discipline'' and '' War Party''. He created the worldwide TV franchise, ''MasterChef'', which is shown in 200 countries worldwide and there are 47 locally produced versions. He also produced formats for ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'', ''Making Out'', and ''Harry'', all of which were highly successful TV dramas. He directed the award-winning TV drama ''Dummy'', which won the prestigious Prix Italia Drama Prize. Norton, County Durham
Norton is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It stands on higher ground to the south, further away from the River Tees than Stockton town centre. They are small areas west of the area called Roseworth and Ragworth. Billingham Beck is to the area's east, the beck flows south-east to join the river. Wolviston and Wynyard are the nearest places to the north. They are three wards with the area's name. The Canterbury Tales (TV Series)
''The Canterbury Tales'' is a series of six single dramas that originally aired on BBC One in 2003. Each story is an adaptation of one of Geoffrey Chaucer's 14th-century ''Canterbury Tales''. While the stories have been transferred to a modern, 21st century setting, they are still set along the traditional Pilgrims' route to Canterbury. Repeats of the series in the UK have been on channels including ITV3. ''An Ungentlemanly Act'' is a 1992 BBC television film about the first days of the invasion of the Falkland Islands in 1982. Production The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as an Argentine radio operator.
