Frances Myers (credited as Fran Myers) is an American television soap opera writer and actress. She has written for soaps for nearly 25 years. She also had a contract role on CBS soap opera ''Guiding Light'' as Peggy Scott Fletcher from 1965-1980. She is the widow of actor and writer Roger Newman. Roger Newman
Roger Newman (31 August 1940 – 4 March 2010) was a British born-American soap opera actor and writer. He was born in London, and died in New York City. Newman began his career as a child in radio. He moved with his family to Montréal after World War II, and he eventually settled in the United States. He served in the US Army and attended Columbia University. His credits included ''Guiding Light'', where he met his wife, the actor and writer Frances Myers. He also had a short role as Joe on '' The Edge of Night''. ''The White Shadow'' is an American drama television series starring Ken Howard that ran on the CBS network from November 27, 1978, to March 16, 1981, about a white former professional basketball player who takes a job coaching basketball at an impoverished urban high school with a racially mixed basketball team. Although the lead actor Howard was white, the series broke new ground as the first television ensemble drama to feature a mostly African American cast, with African American actors playing the high school principal and vice-principal, the majority of the teenage basketball players, and other supporting roles. Ken Howard
Kenneth Joseph Howard Jr. (March 28, 1944 – March 23, 2016) was an American actor. He was known for his roles as Thomas Jefferson in ''1776'' and as basketball coach and former Chicago Bulls player Ken Reeves in the television show '' The White Shadow'' (1978–1981). Howard won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1970 for his performance in '' Child's Play'', and later won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his work in ''Grey Gardens'' (2009). Financial Core (also known as FiCore or Fi-Core) refers to a legal carve out that permits workers opposed to participating in a labor union to be employed under the benefits of a union's contracts without compelling them to be a member of that union. The term "Financial Core" was first used in a 1963 United States Supreme Court decision, ''National Labor Relations Board v. General Motors''. The court determined, while workers cannot be compelled to be a union "member" as a condition of employment, they would be compelled to pay their share of a union's collective bargaining activities.
