Framverran School
Framverran is a village in the municipality of Inderøy in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located about from the village of Mosvik, about northwest of the village of Venneshamn, and about northeast of Trongsundet. The village sits along the Beitstadfjorden, southeast of the mouth of the Verrasundet and northwest of the mouth of the Skarnsund. Historically, Framverran was part of Ytterøy municipality before 1867, then it was part of Mosvik og Verran municipality from 1867 until 1901, it was then part of Verran municipality from 1901 to 1967, it was part of Mosvik municipality from 1968 to 2012, and since 2012, it has been a part of Inderøy municipality. Framverran is the location of Vestvik Church. From 1993 to 2010, Framverran School had been educating all of the 1st to 4th-grade pupils for the whole Mosvik area. Beitstadfjorden
Beitstadfjorden () is the innermost arm of the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Steinkjer, Inderøy, and a small part extends into Indre Fosen. The fjord has a length of from southwest to northeast, and a width of about . The fjord begins at the Skarnsund strait in the south and extends northeast to the city of Steinkjer. On the far western part of the fjord, the Verrasundet strait extends south to the village of Verrabotn in Indre Fosen, while in the north the Beitstad strait stretches northward past the villages of Malm, Beitstad, and Vellamelen. Petter Northug Jr. (born 6 January 1986) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier and double Olympic champion. He won a total of 13 World Championship and two Winter Olympic gold medals with 20 medals overall (two gold, one silver and one bronze at the Olympics, 13 gold and three silver at the World Ski Championships), and 18 individual FIS Cross-Country World Cup wins with 13 podium places. He is also the record holder for most stage wins (13) in Tour de Ski. By winning his ninth gold medal in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 4 × 10 km relay in Val di Fiemme 2013 he leveled the achievement of Bjørn Dæhlie who had been the most successful World Champion male skier up to that point. Vestvik Church
Vestvik Church ( no, Vestvik kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Framverran. It is one of the two churches for the Mosvik parish which is part of the Stiklestad prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style using plans drawn up by the architect Jon Rostad. The church seats about 275 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1533, but it was much older than that. The first church was likely a stave church and it was located about southwest of the present church site. The baptismal font in the church has been dated to around the year 1250, so it is likely that the church was founded around that time. Not much is known about the old church. Mosvik
Mosvik is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality was part of the Innherred region. The municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2012. The old municipality encompassed the southern part of what is now the municipality of Inderøy in Trøndelag county. The municipality was located along the western shore of the Trondheimsfjorden and on the southwestern end of the Beitstadfjorden. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Mosvik where Mosvik Church is located. Verran is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was divided between Steinkjer Municipality and Indre Fosen Municipality. It was part of the Innherred region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Malm. Other villages in Verran included Follafoss, Sela, Verrabotn, and Verrastranda. Mosvik og Verran is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1867 until 1901 when it was split into two. It was located on the Fosen peninsula, on the west side of the Trondheimsfjord. Ytterøy
Ytterøy is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. Originally, it was a large municipality that encompassed the island of Ytterøya and parts of the mainland to the northwest of the island on the west side of the Trondheimsfjord. By 1964 when it was dissolved, Ytterøy only included the island of Ytterøya. Since 1964, the island has been part of what is now the municipality of Levanger in Trøndelag county. Skarnsund
Skarnsund or Skarnsundet is a strait in the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The strait connects the Beitstadfjorden with the outer section of the Trondheimsfjorden. The long and wide Skarnsund is located in the municipality of Inderøy. On the northeastern side of the strait is the village of Vangshylla and on the southwestern side is the villages of Venneshamn and Kjerringvik (this side is the Mosvik area of Inderøy). The strait has a strong tidal current with a maelstrom. The Skarnsund strait was crossed by the Vangshylla–Kjerringvik Ferry ( car ferry), operated by Innherredsferja, prior to 19 December 1991.
