''Fragmentary Evidence'' is the second full-length album by the Canadian progressive death metal band Augury (band), Augury. Augury (band)
Augury is a progressive death metal band from Montreal, Quebec who released their debut album, '' Concealed'' in September 2004 on Galy Records, and a follow-up, '' Fragmentary Evidence'', in July 2009 on Nuclear Blast Records. Their third album was released in 2018 on The Artisan Era. History Although the idea to create the band had been in discussions between members since they met in 1997, the formation of Augury did not take place until 2002 when lead guitarist Mathieu Marcotte left his band Spasme, and began to audition drummers. He was soon joined by Dominic "Forest" Lapointe of Atheretic fame on bass, and Arianne Fleury on vocals. Vocalist and guitarist Patrick Loisel joined in February 2002 after leaving the band Kralizec. Ex-Adenine drummer Mathieu Groulx joined the band in June 2002. Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Nuclear Blast is a record label and mail order record distributor with subsidiaries in Germany, the United States and Brazil. The label was founded in 1987 by Markus Staiger in Germany. Aborted is a Belgian death metal band formed in 1995 in Waregem. The group currently consists of vocalist, founder and only constant member Sven de Caluwé, guitarist Ian Jekelis, bassist Stefano Franceschini and drummer Ken Bedene. Although the band originally had an entire lineup of members living in Belgium, Aborted's current lineup now features members from Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland and the United States.
