Fournier Arm
Fournier is a French surname. It is a former designation of baker. Prior to the 1900s it was the designation of a firefighter. The firefighter became by default the baker as he was normally in charge of the communal ovens. As fewer people kneaded their own bread, he commenced this task, became more skilled and thus became the baker. Evan Mehdi Fournier (; born 29 October 1992) is a French professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played junior basketball at the French INSEP academy from 2007 to 2009. Early life Fournier was born on 29 October 1992 in Saint-Maurice, a small suburb outside of Paris. Jean-Marc Fournier (born October 7, 1959) is a Quebec politician and a lawyer. He represented the riding of Saint-Laurent in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2010 to 2018, and previously represented the riding of Châteauguay from 1994 to 2008. Jean-Claude Fournier (; born 21 May 1943, Paris), known simply as Fournier, is a French cartoonist best known as the comic book artist who handled ''Spirou et Fantasio'' in the years 1969-1979. Biography In 1965, Fournier approached André Franquin with drawings of his favourite characters, the cast of ''Spirou''. As Franquin sought a way to retire as ''Spirou'' creator, and devote himself to ''Gaston Lagaffe'', he passed on Fournier's work to Yvan Delporte, the editor of '' Spirou'' magazine. Fournier's own creation; the poetic and fairy tale-like ''Bizu'' was serialised in ''Spirou'' between 1967–69, until Fournier was finally chosen by Dupuis as Franquin's successor. Jean Alfred Fournier
Jean Alfred Fournier () (21 May 1832 – 25 December 1914) was a French dermatologist who specialized in the study of venereal disease. Biography As a young man he served as an interne at the Hôpital du Midi as an understudy to Philippe Ricord (1800–1889). In 1863 he became ''médecine des hôpitaux'', and from 1867 worked with Augustin Grisolle (1811–1869) at the Hôtel-Dieu de Paris. In 1876 he was appointed ''chef de service'' at the Hôpital Saint-Louis, later becoming a member of the ''Académie de Médecine'' (1880). His main contribution to medical science was the study of congenital syphilis, of which he provided a description of in 1883. In his numerous publications he stressed the importance of syphilis being the cause of degenerative diseases. Pope Benedict XII ( la, Benedictus XII, french: Benoît XII; 1285 – 25 April 1342), born Jacques Fournier, was head of the Catholic Church from 30 December 1334 to his death in April 1342. Jack Fournier
John Frank Fournier (September 28, 1889 – September 5, 1973) was an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Robins, and Boston Braves from 1912 to 1927. Fournier was known for having outstanding batting abilities but subpar fielding abilities. MLB career When purchased by the White Sox from the Boston Red Sox in 1912, Fournier presented Pants Rowland and a half-dozen other managers with the dilemma of what to do with his pure hitting, but poor fielding abilities.
