American Expeditionary Forces
The American Expeditionary Forces (A. E. F.) was a formation of the United States Army on the Western Front of World War I. The A. E. F. was established on July 5, 1917, in France under the command of General John J. Pershing. It fought alongside French Army, British Army, Canadian Army, New Zealand Army and Australian Army units against the Imperial German Army. A small number of A. E. F. troops also fought alongside Italian Army units in that same year against the Austro-Hungarian Army. The A. E. The 103rd Aero Squadron was an aviation pursuit squadron of the U.S. Air Service that served in combat in France during World War I. Its original complement included pilots from the disbanded Lafayette Escadrille and Lafayette Flying Corps. One of those pilots, Paul F. The SPAD S.XIII is a French biplane fighter aircraft of the First World War, developed by ''Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés'' (SPAD) from the earlier and highly successful SPAD S.VII. Lisle-en-Barrois Aerodrome was a temporary World War I airfield in France. It was located on the plateau north of the commune of Lisle-en-Barrois, in the Meuse department in north-eastern France. Overview In 1915, the French escadrille MS 37 stayed from 19 August to 16 October near the "ferme de Vaudoncourt", 1 mile north of lisle en Barrois. Parois Airdrome, was a temporary World War I airfield in France. It was located near the commune of Aubréville, in the Lorraine region in northeastern France. Overview The airfield was built during the early fall of 1918 as a forward operations base, and was used during the last days of the war by the United States First Army Air Service V Corps Observation Group during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
