Polícia (song)
"Polícia" is the fifth single by Titãs, from the album ''Cabeça Dinossauro'', released in 1986. The song, written just after Tony Bellotto and Arnaldo Antunes were arrested for heroin traffic, criticizes the police. According to Branco Mello, vocalist of the band, the album ''Cabeça Dinossauro'' had "much of that disappointment of being arrested and to know you are not a criminal". Sérgio Britto recorded the first take of his lead vocals while overhearing a conversation between producer Liminha and Evandro Mesquita about spearfishing, which made him angry. He wanted to record a second performance, but his band mates convinced him the first attempt was fine. Besides, he only had three minutes to record his part. Originally, nobody wanted to take on lead vocals for the song, which Bellotto wrote having Paulo Miklos in mind. The members didn't even think "Polícia" had any potential at all. Since Britto only san two other songs from the album ("AA UU" and "Homem Primata"), he en ...

Internal Affairs (law Enforcement)
Internal affairs (often known as IA) is a division of a law enforcement agency that investigates incidents and possible suspicions of law-breaking and professional misconduct attributed to officers on the force. It is thus a mechanism of limited self-governance, "a police force policing itself". In different systems, internal affairs can go by other names such as internal investigations division (usually referred to as IID), professional standards, inspectorate general, Office of Professional Responsibility, internal review board, or similar. Due to the sensitive nature of this responsibility, in many departments, officers employed in an internal affairs unit are not in a detective command but report directly to the agency's chief, or to a board of civilian police commissioners. Internal affairs investigators are bound by stringent rules when conducting their investigations. In California, the Peace Officers Bill of Rights (POBR) is a mandated set of rules found in the Governmen ...

Colonel
Colonel (abbreviated as Col., Col or COL) is a senior military officer rank used in many countries. It is also used in some police forces and paramilitary organizations. In the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a colonel was typically in charge of a regiment in an army. Modern usage varies greatly, and in some cases, the term is used as an honorific title that may have no direct relationship to military service. The rank of colonel is typically above the rank of lieutenant colonel. The rank above colonel is typically called brigadier, brigade general or brigadier general. In some smaller military forces, such as those of Monaco or the Vatican, colonel is the highest rank. Equivalent naval ranks may be called captain or ship-of-the-line captain. In the Commonwealth's air force ranking system, the equivalent rank is group captain. History and origins By the end of the late medieval period, a group of "companies" was referred to as a "column" of an army. According to Raymond Ol ...

Alter-ego
An alter ego (Latin for "other I", "doppelgänger") means an alternate self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or true original personality. Finding one's alter ego will require finding one's other self, one with a different personality. The altered states of the ego may themselves be referred to as ''alterations''. A distinct meaning of ''alter ego'' is found in the literary analysis used when referring to fictional literature and other narrative forms, describing a key character in a story who is perceived to be intentionally representative of the work's author (or creator), by oblique similarities, in terms of psychology, behavior, speech, or thoughts, often used to convey the author's thoughts. The term is also sometimes, but less frequently, used to designate a hypothetical "twin" or "best friend" to a character in a story. Similarly, the term ''alter ego'' may be applied to the role or persona taken on by an actor or by other types of performers. Ori ...

The alternative spelling, ''serjeant'', is used in The Rifles and other units that draw their heritage from the British light infantry.
