Allen Forward
Allen Forward (4 June 1921 – 1 January 1994) was a Welsh rugby union forward who favoured the position of flanker. Forward played club rugby for Pontypool and various Police teams. He played in six internationals for Wales and was part of the 1952 Grand Slam winning side. Forward also played for an invitational touring team, the Barbarians, and twice met international opposition for Pontypool: South Africa in 1951 and New Zealand in 1954. Personal history Forward was born in the village of Cwmavon near Pontypool in 1921 to Edwin and Sarah (née Allen). He was the second eldest of nine children and was educated at nearby Varteg School, before attending Abersychan Grammar Technical School. He entered the police force, and retired a police sergeant. Chauncey Forward
Chauncey Forward (February 4, 1793 – October 19, 1839) was an American politician who served as a Jacksonian member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Early life and education Forward was born in Old Granby, Connecticut, to Samuel and Susannah Forward. Among his brothers were Oliver Forward and Walter Forward. His grandson was Chauncey Forward Black. He moved with his father to Ohio in 1800, and a short time afterward to Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He pursued classical studies, studied law, was admitted to the bar in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1817 and began practice in Somerset, Pennsylvania. He was married to Rebekah Blair of Maryland. Career He was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1820 to 1822 and the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 22nd district from 1823 to 1826. Jonathan Forward (1680–1760) was a London merchant primarily responsible for convict transportation to the American colonies from 1718 to 1739. In accordance with the Transportation Act 1717, Forward was contracted to transport felons from Newgate Prison and from numerous home counties. Marriage Forward married Susannah before 1712. Walter Forward
Walter Forward (January 24, 1786 – November 24, 1852) was an American lawyer and politician. He was the brother of Chauncey Forward. Biography Born in East Granby, Connecticut, he attended the common schools. After moving with his father to Aurora, Ohio, he settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1803. There he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1806. He practiced in Pittsburgh and also served for more than a year as editor of ''The Tree of Liberty'' newspaper. He also served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. In 1822, he was elected to the 17th Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Henry Baldwin, and was reelected to the 18th Congress. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1824 to the 19th Congress.
