Fortuna Vlaardingen
Fortuna Vlaardingen was a Dutch football club which was founded in 1904 in Vlaardingen. The club played its matches in the Floreslaan stadium. History The club entered the Eerste Divisie in 1956. Fortuna never made it towards the Eredivisie and competed mostly between Eerste and Tweede Divisie. In 1974 the club separated the amateur and the professional branch. FC Vlaardingen The professionals remained as ''FC Vlaardingen '74'' and the amateurs kept playing as ''Fortuna''. In 1981 FC Vlaardingen went bankrupt. The amateurs merged in 2004 with local club ''TSB'' to form the new amateur club ''Victoria '04''. Vlaardingen
Vlaardingen () is a city in South Holland in the Netherlands. It is located on the north bank of the Nieuwe Maas river at the confluence with the Oude Maas. The municipality administers an area of , of which is land, with residents in . Geography The city is divided into a northern part (locally known as the "Holy") and a southern part by the A20 motorway. On the east the city is separated from Schiedam by the A4 motorway. Other places nearby are Maassluis to the west, Schipluiden and Delft to the north, Schiedam and Rotterdam to the east and Spijkenisse in the south-west, on the other side of the Nieuwe Maas. The A20 connects Rotterdam to Hook of Holland. The Beneluxtunnel (the tunnel that runs under the Nieuwe Waterweg) connects the A20 to the A15. Theo Laseroms
Matheus Wilhelmus Theodorus "Theo" Laseroms (8 March 1940 – 25 April 1991) was a Dutch football defender who made a name for himself when he played for Feijenoord. He gained six caps for the Netherlands national team. Club career Laseroms, nicknamed ''De Tank'' or ''Theo de Tank'', was famous for his sliding tackle. His career had started in 1956 at RBC, followed in 1958 by NAC. In 1963, he switched to Sparta, with whom he won the KNVB Cup in 1966. In 1967, Laseroms signed with the Pittsburgh Phantoms of the newly created National Professional Soccer League while still under contract with Sparta Rotterdam. Sparta sued Pittsburgh in both the United States and the Netherlands and received $50,000 from the Phantoms. In 1968 he moved to Feijenoord where he would form the defensive core alongside Rinus Israël. He played four seasons for Feijenoord through late sixties and early seventies. Gerard Weber (born 1938)
Gerard Weber (5 January 1938) is a Dutch former professional footballer for Excelsior Rotterdam. Nicknamed Webertje ( en, Little Weber), Weber was known for his speed. He played both as a midfielder and as a forward. Weber won several championships with Excelsior. He went on to manage football teams in the Rotterdam region, living in Zwijdrecht.
