Fort Worth (film)
''Fort Worth'' is a 1951 American Western film directed by Edwin L. Marin and starring Randolph Scott. It is Marin's final directing work, as he died two months before the release. Plot Former gunfighter Ned Britt sets up shop in Fort Worth, Texas, as a newspaper man. He falls in love with Flora Talbot, who is the fiancée of a former friend, Blair Lunsford. Britt tries to expose the crooked cattle baron Gabe Clevinger in his newspaper. Clevinger resorts to violence in order to prevent the arrival of the railroad at Fort Worth. Britt has to rethink his journalistic methods to stop him and resorts to violence himself. Michael Tolan
Michael Tolan (born Seymour Tuchow, November 27, 1925 – January 31, 2011) was an American actor. Early life and education The son of Morris Tuchow, Tolan was born in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Central High School and Wayne State University in Detroit and studied under Stella Adler and at Stanford University. Career Tolan's early acting experience came on radio station WXYZ in Detroit, where he was heard on ''The Green Hornet'' and ''The Lone Ranger''. He also worked with the Actors Company. In 1948, he performed in summer stock theater in Worcester, Massachusetts. Tolan appeared primarily in stage roles in his early career, with only minor parts in films of the early 1950s. Jack Mower (September 5, 1890 – January 6, 1965) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 520 films between 1914 and 1965. He was born in Honolulu and died in Hollywood. After studying at Punahou College, in Honolulu, Mower moved to the mainland, and performed in vaudeville and in musical comedies on stage. His work on screen included serials and silent films. Charles Randolph "Chubby" Johnson (August 13, 1903 – October 31, 1974) was an American film and television supporting character actor with a genial demeanor and warm, country-accented voice. Early years Johnson was the son of entertainers. His father was a comedian in vaudeville, and his mother was a concert pianist. As a child, Johnson performed with his father in vaudeville. Career Before he became an actor, Johnson was a journalist whose employers included the ''Las Vegas Sun''. He also acted on stage, including a five-year span during which he appeared in a new play each week at the Warner Egyptian Theater in Pasadena. Walter Sande (July 9, 1906 – November 22, 1971) was an American character actor, known for numerous supporting film and television roles. Films Born in Denver, Colorado, he was one of those stern, heavyset character actors in Hollywood no person could recognize by name. Sande showed an early interest in music as a youth and by his college years managed to start his own band. This led to a job as musical director for 20th Century-Fox's theater chain, which, in turn, led him to acting in films beginning in 1937.
