Forster Bus Service
Forster Bus Service was an Australian bus company operating route bus services on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. History On 20 April 1979, GL & J Nixon purchased Forster Bus Service from Charlie Brown with six buses. In November 1981, the business of D&W Thomas of Bungwahl was acquired with three buses. By March 1990, the fleet had grown to 19. In November 1990, the business of JJ & CJ Sultana of Dyers Crossing was purchased with four buses. In 1999, the business was purchased by the Deane family, former proprietors of Sydney operators Clipper Tours, Deanes Coaches and Southtrans. On 1 June 2011, the Wisely's Bus & Coach Service of Wingham was purchased. In October 2011, a service to Sydney commenced after Busways ceased operating a similar service. It ceased on 30 March 2013. Forster, New South Wales
Forster is a coastal town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, in the Mid-Coast Council LGA, about 308 km north-north-east of Sydney. It is immediately adjacent to its twin, Tuncurry, which is the smaller of the two towns. Forster is known for its stunning waters and Manning Valley beauty. History Forster is named after William Forster, who also was the 4th Premier of New South Wales and who later served as Agent-General in London. The first post office in Forster opened on 1 October 1872, with John Wyllie Breckenridge as postmaster at a salary of £10 a year. The area was well known in the early days for its timber cutting and sawmills. Timber was collected from the lakes and rivers by the logpunts (droghers). A bridge over the Coolongolook River that marks the entrance to Wallis Lake was built in 1959 linking Forster and Tuncurry and replacing the punt service that had operated since 1890. Clipper Tours was an Australian coach operator in Sydney. History Clipper Tours was formed by Ray Cotrill in Campsie. Deanes Coaches was an Australian bus company operating route bus services and charter coaches on Sydney's North Shore. History Deanes Coaches was formed in August 1955 as Turramurra-Bobbin Head Bus Service when Ron Deane purchase route 166 Turramurra station to South Turramurra from Turramurra Hire Service. On 1 July 1968, Longueville Motor Bus Company was purchased with route 127 Longueville to Chatswood station and Longueville to Wynyard. In November 1970, Barnes Coaches was purchased with routes 54 Chatswood station to Macquarie University, 124 Chatswood to Lindfield, 221 Lindfield to Bradfield Park and 224 Tambourine Bay to Wynyard via Northwood. In July 1973, route 89 Epping to Ryde was purchased from Eastwood Bus Company. In May 1977, a new depot was opened in Macquarie Park to replace the Carlingford and Turramurra facilities. Wingham is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia in the Mid-Coast Council area north of Sydney. According to the , Wingham had a population of 5,313. History The first land grant in the area was made at The Bight to George Rowley in 1841. Wingham was chosen as a location for a government settlement because supply boats could not proceed any further up the Manning River and was also located on the road from Raymond Terrace to Port Macquarie. Named after Wingham in Kent, England, Wingham was proclaimed a village in 1844 but allotments were not made until 1854, the same year that Henry Flett laid out Taree as a private settlement.
