Forst (brewery)
Forst is an Italian brewing company, based in Forst (Italian: ''Foresta''), a ''frazione'' (municipal subdivision) of Algund (Italian: ''Lagundo''), South Tyrol. The brewery was founded in 1857 by two entrepreneurs, Johann Wallnöfer and Franz Tappeiner, from Meran (Italian: ''Merano''). Later in 1863, the company passed to the entrepreneur Josef Fuchs, who enlarged the plant in Forst. In 2004, Forst opened a small microbrewery in Forst, Germany. Operations Forst has an annual production of 700,000 hl, serving primarily the domestic market. In 1991, it acquired the Menabrea brewery in Biella, Piedmont and also maintains a bottling plant in Palermo, Sicily. Forst (Lausitz)
Forst (Lausitz) ( dsb, Baršć) is a town in Lower Lusatia, Brandenburg, Germany. It lies east of Cottbus, on the river Lausitzer Neiße which is also the German-Polish border, the Oder-Neisse line. It is the capital of the Spree-Neiße district. It is known for its rose garden and textile museum. The town's population is 18,651. In Forst, there is a railway bridge across the Neiße belonging to the line Cottbus–Żary which is serviced by regional trains and a EuroCity train between Hamburg and Kraków (2011). There is also a road bridge across the river north of Forst. Overview Part of the region of Lower Lusatia, Forst was awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia in the 1815 Congress of Vienna. Forst (Unterfranken)
Forst in Unterfranken is a little village in the Schonungen municipality that lies in the district of Schweinfurt. It has about 900 inhabitants. Location Forst lies approximately 1/2 mile just north of the Main river along the southern exposed north bank of the Main river valley. At 923 ft (284m) above sea level, it is about 227 ft (70m) above the river. Many new houses have been built, except in the old village center, due to the great view into the valley. The expansion predominantly took place to the west towards Schonungen. History The village is first documented in the year 1183. David Lee Forst (born May 18, 1976) is an American baseball executive with the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball. He is the general manager of the Athletics. Early and personal life Forst was born in Santa Monica, California, and raised in Encino, California. He attended Brentwood School in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Forst's wife is Rebe Glass, a lawyer with the San Francisco law firm Cooley Godward Kronish. Glass and Forst met at Harvard, where Glass was captain of the soccer team and a member of the 1997 All-Ivy Team, Second Team. Willi Forst, born Wilhelm Anton Frohs (7 April 1903 – 11 August 1980) was an Austrian actor, screenwriter, film director, film producer and singer. As a debonair actor he was a darling of the German-speaking film audiences, as a director, one of the most significant makers of the Viennese period musical melodramas and comedies of the 1930s known as ''Wiener Filme''. From the mid-1930s he also recorded many records, largely of sentimental Viennese songs, for the Odeon Records label owned by Carl Lindström AG. Grete Forst
Grete Forst (August 18, 1878 – June 1, 1942) was an Austrian soprano. Born Margarete Feiglstock to a Jewish family in Vienna, Forst made her operatic debut in Cologne in 1900 in the title role of '' Lucia di Lammermoor'' Three years later, made her Vienna State Opera debut in the same role and was made a member of the company by Gustav Mahler. In 1908 she sang in the premiere of Karl Goldmark's ''Ein Wintermärchen'' with Leopold Demuth. She remained in Vienna singing coloratura roles such as Olympia, Queen of the Night, Oscar, and Fiordiligi, as well as lyric soprano roles such as Cio-Cio-San. After she retired in 1911 upon her marriage to banker Johann Schuschny, she continued her career as a concert singer and teacher in Vienna for many years. She had one child, a son, Fritz Schuschny. Rainer Forst (born 15 August 1964, Wiesbaden) is a German philosopher and political theorist, and was called the "most important political philosopher of his generation" in 2012, when he won the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize. Currently he is Professor of Political Theory at the Department for Social Sciences, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. He is often identified with the newest generation of scholars associated with the Frankfurt School of critical theory.
