Formula Pacific
Formula Pacific was a motor racing category which was used in the Pacific Basin area from 1977 to 1982. It specified a single-seat, open-wheeler chassis powered by a production-based four-cylinder engine of under 1600cc capacity. The formula was based on Formula Atlantic, with provision made for the use of Japanese engines. The category was superseded in 1983 by Formula Mondial, which was devised by the FIA to replace both Formula Atlantic and Formula Pacific. Chevron Cars Ltd. is an English manufacturer of racing cars, founded by Derek Bennett in 1965. Following Bennett's death in 1978, the firm has remained active in various guises. Allen Berg
Allen Bernard Berg (born August 1, 1961) is a Canadian former racing driver who raced for the Osella team in Formula One. Racing career Berg was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He began in karting in 1978 and switched to cars when he was 20, into Formula Atlantic. In 1982 he won the prestigious Tasman Formula Pacific Series in Australia and New Zealand and entered the British Formula 3 series in 1983. However, his timing was bad since he had to compete against Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle. He won one race (one which Senna and Brundle opted out of to compete for European F3 points and outright race win) and ended up fifth in the series. The following year he was runner-up in the British F3 series to Johnny Dumfries with eight second places. In 1985 he returned to Canada to seek funding for Formula One. David Oxton
David Oxton (born 22 December 1945) is a former New Zealand racing driver. Oxton spent the majority of his career racing open wheel cars in New Zealand and Australia but did drive touring cars late in his career. Career Oxton's career started in the late 1960s, driving a Daimler SP250 in New Zealand motorsport events and in 1968 he made the move to open-wheel racing. Oxton won two consecutive New Zealand Formula Ford Championships from 1970 to 1972 and in 1971 he debuted in both the New Zealand Gold Star Championship and the Tasman Series. During the 1970s Oxton would go on to win three New Zealand Gold Stars but did not achieve the same success in the Tasman Series, with a best finish of eighth in 1972 and 1974. Ralt
Ralt was a manufacturer of single-seater racing cars, founded by ex-Jack Brabham associate Ron Tauranac after he sold out his interest in Brabham to Bernie Ecclestone. Ron and his brother had built some specials in Australia in the 1950s under the Ralt name (standing for Ron and Austin Lewis Tauranac). Tauranac won the 1954 NSW Hillclimb Championship in the Ralt 500. Cars Early Ralts Built with the assistance of Tauranac's younger brother, Austin, in Australia. Dave McMillan (racing Driver)
Dave McMillan (born 18 May 1944) is a New Zealand former racing driver. Throughout the 1970s, McMillan raced Formula Fords in his native New Zealand during the northern winter and raced Super Vees in America in the northern summer. In 1979 he placed ninth in the USAC Mini Indy Super Vee series and eighth in the SCCA Formula Super Vee Championship. In 1980 he began racing in Formula Pacific in his native New Zealand, which at the time used Formula Atlantic rules where Super Vee cars were legal. McMillan won the 1980 championship in his Super Vee car and finished third in American Super Vee. In 1982 he won the American CASC North American Formula Atlantic Championship in a Cosworth BDA powered Ralt. In 1983 he finished fourth in Formula Pacific and in 1984 he finished 5th. Teo Fabi
Teodorico Fabi (born 9 March 1955) is an Italian former racing driver. He competed in Formula One and sports car racing, and claimed pole position in his rookie year at the 1983 Indianapolis 500. Teo is the older brother of former Formula One driver Corrado Fabi. At the 1984 Indianapolis 500, Fabi became the last active Formula One driver to race at the event until Fernando Alonso in 2017.
