Forever Together (American Horse)
Forever Together (foaled April 12, 2004 in Kentucky) is an American Thoroughbred Eclipse Award, Champion Horse racing, racehorse. Bred by the White Fox Farm of Karen and Dewey White, she was purchased and raced by George W. Strawbridge Jr.'s Augustin Stable. Trained by Jonathan E. Sheppard, Jonathan Sheppard, Forever Together's wins include back-to-back editions in 2008 and 2009 of the Diana Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. She won the 2008 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita Park and was voted American Champion Female Turf Horse honors. In a November 11, 2009 return to Santa Anita Park to defend her Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf title, Forever Together ran third to winner, Midday (horse), Midday. Danzig (horse)
Danzig (February 12, 1977 – January 4, 2006) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who is best known as a leading sire. He was purchased for $310,000 (equivalent to $ million in ) by Henryk de Kwiatkowski at the 1978 Saratoga Yearling Sale. The son of Hall of Famer Northern Dancer and the most commercially successful sire of the second half of the 20th century, he won all three of his races before knee problems ended his racing career. Stud record Danzig was retired to stand at stud at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky, where he became one of the world's most important sires. He led the U.S. sires list from 1991 to 1993 and topped the sire list in Spain and the United Arab Emirates. Danzig sired 188 graded stakes race winners and 10 champions. Midday (foaled 2006) is a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She won 9 of her 23 starts, including the Group 1 Nassau Stakes three times (unequalled), the Yorkshire Oaks, Prix Vermeille and the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. She ran second to Sariska in the 2009 Epsom Oaks. Background Midday is a bay mare bred and owned by Khalid Abdullah. Saratoga Race Course is a Thoroughbred horse racing track located on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs, New York, United States. Opened in 1863, it is often considered to be the oldest major sporting venue of any kind in the country, but is actually the fourth oldest racetrack in the US (after 3rd oldest Pleasanton Fairgrounds Racetrack, 2nd oldest Fair Grounds Race Course, and oldest Freehold Raceway). The Eclipse Award is an American Thoroughbred horse racing award named after the 18th-century British racehorse and sire, Eclipse. An Eclipse Award Trophy is presented to the winner in each division that is made by a few small selected American foundries with expertise in studio bronze casting. It is then mounted on the hand-crafted native Kentucky walnut base to comprise the Eclipse Award on which a brass plate recites the award winner.
