Jolina Magdangal
Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal-Escueta (; born November 6, 1978) is a Filipina singer, actress, television presenter, and entrepreneur. She is referred to in the Philippines as the Queen of Pinoy Popular Culture (or simply as Pop Icon) and is often regarded as one of the most successful multimedia artists in Philippine entertainment and is penned as the original Multimedia Superstar. Magdangal is also dubbed as the “''Queen of the 90s''” due to her fame and success on television, in the movies, recording, fashion, and print and commercial advertisements during that decade. ''Jolina Sings the Masters'' is the fourth studio album by Filipino singer-actress Jolina Magdangal released by Star Music on August 15, 2002. The album consists of 15 songs mostly ballads, with some come with a light pop lilt. The album's title refers to the songwriters who contributed songs to the collection, whose works have become contemporary classics in Philippine music industry earning them the right to be referred to as masters. The album took eight months to finish due to Magdangal's concert tours around the Philippines and in major cities around the world. The album showcased the transition of Magdangal from a youth kiddie pop to a grown-up artist, getting rid of the colorful wardrobe, hair ribbons and her trademark bangs and exploring adult emotions in the songs. ''Jolina'' is the second studio album by Filipino singer and actress Jolina Magdangal released by Star Music on January 9, 1999. The album consists mostly of passionate, easy-listening love songs, a style of music quite popular in the Philippines. Five of the tracks on the album were originally used as soundtrack in various movies she starred to which include "Tameme" and "Sana'y Kapiling Ka" in the film '' F.L.A.M.E.S.: The Movie'' (1997), the re-recorded "T.L. Ako Sa'yo" and her cover of "Tulak Ng Bibig, Kabig Ng Dibdib" in ''Kung Ayaw Mo, Huwag Mo!'' (1998), and "Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal" in '' Labs Kita... Okey Ka Lang?'' (1998).
