Forestry
Forestry is the science and craft of creating, managing, planting, using, conserving and repairing forests, woodlands, and associated resources for human and environmental benefits. Forest management play essential role of creation and modification of habitats and affect ecosystem services provisioning. Modern forestry generally embraces a broad range of concerns, in what is known as multiple-use management, including: the provision of timber, fuel wood, wildlife habitat, natural water quality management, recreation, landscape and community protection, employment, aesthetically appealing landscapes, biodiversity management, watershed management, erosion control, and preserving forests as " sinks" for atmospheric carbon dioxide. Roger Taverner
Roger Taverner (Abt.1507-1582) of Upminster, Essex was an English administrator and Member of Parliament for Newport, Cornwall. Life Taverner was the eldest of Richard Taverner's younger brothers. He was a surveyor and writer, said by Anthony Wood in ''Athenae Oxonienses'' to have studied at Cambridge but not graduated, though university records do not confirm this.He is included in Venn's ''Alumni Cantabrigienses''. John Manwood
John Manwood (died 1610) was a barrister of Lincoln's Inn, gamekeeper of Waltham Forest, and Justice in Eyre of the New Forest under Elizabeth I of England. He was a close relative, probably a nephew, of Sir Roger Manwood, Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer in the reign of Elizabeth. Writings Manwood's first essay on forest law entitled ''A Brefe Collection of the Lawes of the Forrest'' was circulated privately in 1592. It was revised, enlarged, and published by Thomas Wight and Bonham Norton in 1598 as ''A Treatise and Discourse of the Lawes of the Forrest''. This underwent numerous subsequent editions, most notably in that of 1615 by the ''Societie of Stationers'', a version which included material from the ''Brefe Collection'' which was not included in the 1598 version. Manwood's book remained a standard reference on forest law through the mid-1900s. His ''Treatise'' has become perhaps the most-cited secondary source of forest law. As such it is quoted approvingly by ...

John Evelyn
John Evelyn (31 October 162027 February 1706) was an English writer, landowner, gardener, courtier and minor government official, who is now best known as a diarist. He was a founding Fellow of the Royal Society. John Evelyn's diary, or memoir, spanned the period of his adult life from 1640, when he was a student, to 1706, the year he died. He did not write daily at all times. The many volumes provide insight into life and events at a time before regular magazines or newspapers were published, making diaries of greater interest to modern historians than such works might have been at later periods. Evelyn's work covers art, culture and politics, including the execution of Charles I, Oliver Cromwell's rise and eventual natural death, the last Great Plague of London, and the Great Fire of London in 1666. ''John Evelyn's Diary'' was first published posthumously in 1818, but over the years was overshadowed by that of Samuel Pepys. Pepys wrote a different kind of diary, in the sam ...
