Foreign Secretary (Bangladesh)
The Foreign Secretary is the most senior diplomat and governmental, non-political official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Government of Bangladesh. The holder of the post heads all functions of their ministry, including the Foreign Service (also called Diplomatic Service) and reports to the Foreign Minister, who is the most senior political figure with responsibilities for Foreign Affairs. The current Foreign Secretary is Mr.Masud Bin Momen. Reaz Rahman (diplomat)
Riaz Rahman is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from State Minister of Foreign Affairs. Career Rahman served in the Foreign Service of Pakistan. He stayed in West Pakistan during the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971. He escaped Pakistan in 1973 with his family through Afghanistan. In Afghanistan with the aid of the Indian High Commission he was able to move to Bangladesh. Masud Bin Momen is the foreign Secretary of Bangladesh. He is a career Bangladeshi diplomat. He served as an Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations. Shahidul Haque (born 31 December 1959) is a Bangladeshi government official and career diplomat who is the 25th and the longest serving Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh. Syed Muazzem Ali
Syed Muazzem Ali (18 July 1944 – 30 December 2019) was a Bangladeshi foreign service officer and career diplomat. In 2020, he was posthumously conferred the Padma Bhushan award, the third-highest civilian honour of India. Early life Ali was born on 18 July 1944 into a Bengali Muslim family from the Sylhet district, Assam Province in British Raj. He traced his paternal descent from Shah Ahmed Mutawakkil, a local holy man and a Syed of Taraf, though apparently unrelated to Taraf's ruling Syed dynasty. Ali's father was Syed Mostafa Ali, a civil servant employed by the British Raj in Assam Province. He completed his bachelor's and master's in zoology with first class from the University of Dhaka. Farooq Sobhan (born 17 September 1940) is a former Bangladeshi diplomat. He served in various capacities in the Bangladesh government and foreign service. He was Bangladesh's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China (1987–1990) and High Commissioner to Malaysia (1984–1987) and the Republic of India (1992–1995) as well as the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh (1995–1997). Abul Ahsan ( bn, আবুল আহসান) (28 December 1936 – 7 December 2008) was a Bangladeshi diplomat.
