Ford 5000
The Ford 5000 is a blue and white tractor that was produced from 1964 to 1979 by Ford. It was a mid-range tractor, suitable for European farms. The North American versions was slightly different and was named the Ford Major. A similar model, the Ford 3000 was introduced in the spring of 1965. Europe The tractor was released in mainland Europe in 1964, and sold moderately. As time went on, there were more Ford 5000s being sold and could be compared to the New Holland TM series which was in production from 1997-2004. Great Britain The tractor sold exceptionally well in Great Britain. The tractor replaced the long-running Fordson Major which was a worldwide hit. It sold especially well because it slotted into the mid-sized range, which catered for almost every British farmer. A tractor is an engineering vehicle specifically designed to deliver a high tractive effort (or torque) at slow speeds, for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery such as that used in agriculture, mining or construction. Ford 3000
The Ford 3000 is a tractor that was introduced by Ford Motor Company, Ford in the spring of 1965. It was part of Ford's Thousand Series of tractors. This was a "ground up" new platform designed to replace the "Prior" or "Hundred Series" Fords built from 1955 through 1964. It has a 3-cylinder OHV, water-cooled engine. It could be ordered with a Ford-built 158-cubic-inch gas or 175-cubic-inch diesel engine. It was rated at 35 horsepower at the Power take-off, PTO. Optional transmissions were a 4-speed, 6-speed (3-speed with high and low), 8-speed (4-speed with high and low) and a 10-speed 'Select O Speed' power shift transmission. Some of the available options were differential lock, power steering, Live PTO and hydraulic remote valves. Fordson
Fordson was a brand name of tractors and trucks. It was used on a range of mass-produced general-purpose tractors manufactured by Henry Ford & Son Inc from 1917 to 1920, by Ford Motor Company (U.S.) and Ford Motor Company Ltd (U.K.) from 1920 to 1928, and by Ford Motor Company Ltd (U.K.) from 1929 to 1964. The latter (Ford of Britain) also later built trucks and vans under the Fordson brand. After 1964, the Fordson name was dropped and all Ford tractors were simply badged as Fords in both the UK and the US. Doe Triple D
The Doe Triple-D or Doe Dual Drive is a make of tractor produced by Ernest Doe & Sons in the 1950s and 1960s in Ulting Essex. Its two engines and 90-degree articulation made it one of the most unorthodox tractors ever built. Development During the 1950s farmers in the United Kingdom in need of high-power tractors had few options. Essex farmer George Pryor developed an ingenious solution to the problem by creating his own tractor. He did this by purchasing two Fordson tractors, removing the front wheels and axles and linking the two by means of a turntable which provided the steering action powered by hydraulic rams. This left him with a double-engined four-wheel—drive tractor capable of producing more power and outperforming any of the conventional tractors on the UK market at the time. The Smithfield Show, formerly the Smithfield Club Cattle Show and later the Royal Smithfield Show, was an annual British agricultural show, organised by the Royal Smithfield Club. It was founded in 1799 and was first held at Wootton's Livery Stables in Dolphin Yard, Smithfield, London. From 1862 until 1938 it was held at the Agricultural Hall in Islington, London. From 1949 it was held at the Earl's Court Exhibition Centre in Earl's Court, London. The last show was held there in 2004; it was the last major livestock show in London. Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland.
