For Today
For Today was an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They released two EPs, ''Your Moment, Your Life, Your Time'' and ''Prevailer'', and six full-length albums: '' Ekklesia'' in, 2008, ''Portraits'' in 2009, ''Breaker'' in 2010, ''Immortal'' in 2012, ''Fight the Silence'' in 2014, and '' Wake'' in 2015. The band split up in 2016. History For Today was founded in 2005 by Ryan Leitru, Mike Reynolds, David Morrison, and Jon Lauters. Lauters and vocalist Matt Tyler, who joined the band shortly after its formation, (who later became known as Madison Skylights) left the band soon after, and were replaced by Mattie Montgomery (formerly of Besieged) and Brennan Schaeuble. Schaeuble was replaced by Ryan's brother Brandon. Mattie Montgomery
Mattie Montgomery is an American musician and the former lead vocalist and frontman of Christian metal band For Today from 2007. He released six albums and one EP with the band before they broke up in 2016. In addition to his work with For Today, Montgomery has his own solo gospel project named after himself in which he has released three albums and two books. He now pastors a church, The Altar Fellowship, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Music career Montgomery began his involvement in music at the age of fifteen, where he has stated he listened to bands such as Senses Fail and A Static Lullaby. Groups such as these opened the door to heavier bands that would inspire Montgomery to try heavy vocals and screams in his singing. Wake (For Today Album)
''Wake'' is the sixth and final studio album from For Today. Nuclear Blast released the album on October 2, 2015. The album debuted at No. 67 on the ''Billboard'' 200, with around 7,000 copies sold the United States in its first week of release. Critical reception Awarding the album four stars for About.com, Chad Bowar describes, "The album blends ferocious yells and dense riffs with melodic vocals and memorable choruses. They are tailor made for live shows, with both pit-inducing breakdowns and singalong parts. The songwriting is excellent, shifting tempos and intensities enough to avoid monotony, and even though they aren't reinventing the wheel, the execution is flawless." ''Fight the Silence'' is the fifth studio album by For Today. The album was released on February 4, 2014 through Razor & Tie. Critical reception ''Fight the Silence'' received generally positive reception from the ratings and reviews of music critics. Nothing Left is an American supergroup that formed in 2016. The band played their first shows in Europe. Background Nothing Left formed in 2016, following the announced disbanding of the band For Today. The band opened for For Today on the European leg of the Farewell Tour. The band also consists of members of A Bullet for Pretty Boy, Silent Planet and Take It Back!. Koine Greek (; Koine el, ἡ κοινὴ διάλεκτος, hē koinè diálektos, the common dialect; ), also known as Hellenistic Greek, common Attic, the Alexandrian dialect, Biblical Greek or New Testament Greek, was the common supra-regional form of Greek spoken and written during the Hellenistic period, the Roman Empire and the early Byzantine Empire. Make Me Famous were a Ukraine, Ukrainian metalcore band. They were founded by lead guitarist and co-vocalist Denis Stoff, Denis Shaforostov, who gained popularity through his YouTube channel "above92", and songwriter/guitarist Jimmy X Rose. They released one EP and one studio album, titled ''It's Now or Never (album), It's Now or Never''.
