Foothill Technology High School (FTHS, commonly known as Foothill Tech or simply Foothill) is a magnet high school in Ventura, California. The school is part of the Ventura Unified School District. History Foothill Technology High School opened in 2000 to alleviate overcrowding at the city's two existing comprehensive high schools, Buena and Ventura. Admission is determined via lottery. Academics Foothill Technology High School has been a California Distinguished School since 2005 and won the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2006 and 2012. Ventura, officially named San Buenaventura (Spanish for "Saint Bonaventure"), is a city on the Southern Coast of California and the county seat of Ventura County. Oak Park High School (abbreviated OPHS) is the main high school in the Oak Park Unified School District, taking ninth through twelfth grade students. It is a National Blue Ribbon School and a 2019 California Distinguished School and OPHS received and Exemplary Distinction Award from the California of Education for its Career and Technical Education program which includes career pathways in Engineering Design, Media Arts, Production Management, and construction technologies. A YouTuber is an online personality and/or influencer who produces videos on the video-sharing platform YouTube, typically posting to their personal YouTube channel. William Osman
William Osman (born June 8, 1991) is an American YouTuber and engineer based in Ventura County, California. His eponymous YouTube channel features invention-based builds and challenges, including testing dummy fingers in car windows, building a scrap boat for a competition, and challenging other popular YouTube personalities to an egg drop competition. Prior to YouTube, Osman used his degree in mechanical and electrical engineering to work with MRI machines, exploration vehicles, and military testing equipment. Ryan O'Connell is an American writer, actor, director, comedian, LGBTQ activist, and disability advocate. He is known for his 2015 memoir, ''I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves'', about his life as a gay man with cerebral palsy, which he adapted into television series ''Special'' for Netflix, which premiered in April 2019. Tri-County Athletic Association
The Tri-County Athletic Association (TCAA) is a high school athletic conference in California affiliated with the CIF Southern Section. Established in 2006, the association is an amalgamation of the Tri-Valley League and the Frontier League. The TCAA uses a system of promotion and relegation to place each school's teams, by sport and gender, into either league for a two-year period based on performance. As of the 2018–19 school year, the association is composed primarily of private schools located in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. CIF Southern Section
The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and central and southern Santa Barbara counties. At the start of the 2018/9 season, 13 schools from San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County left the Southern Section to join the much smaller CIF Central Section.
