Footballer Of The Year In Russia (Sport-Express)
Footballer of the Year in Russia is an annual award given by ''Sport-Express'' daily to the Russian Premier League player of the season. The title is awarded according to the results of a poll conducted by the newspaper. 11 players of each Premier League club are polled. Brazilian Daniel Carvalho became the first foreign player to win the award in 2005. Andrey Tikhonov
Andrey Valeryevich Tikhonov (russian: Андрей Валерьевич Тихонов; born 16 October 1970) is a Russian football manager and a former midfielder who was recently the manager of Kazakhstani club Astana. Tikhonov is primarily known for having played for Spartak Moscow and the Russia national football team. Career Tikhonov was spotted by the then-Spartak manager Oleg Romantsev, while playing for Titan Reutov, in a game against Spartak Moscow reserves. Tikhonov quickly broke into the starting line-up at his new club, becoming a key player at Spartak soon afterwards. Tikhonov won a total of eight Russian League titles with Spartak, before falling out with Oleg Romantsev. He then had a short loan spell in Israel, before signing a contract with Krylia Sovetov Samara. Dmitri Loskov
Dmitri Vyacheslavovich Loskov (russian: Дмитрий Вячеславович Лоськов; born 12 February 1974) is a Russian football coach and a former player. A former midfielder, he was often considered Russia's best playmaker in the late 1990s and early 2000s, along with Spartak Moscow's Egor Titov, partly because he is two-footed and has a wide range of passing. He is also a renowned set-piece taker and possesses a fierce, stinging shot. Loskov is the only individual to have played in all 21 Russian seasons since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, with 20 of those seasons having been in the Russian Premier League. At one time, Loskov held the record for most appearances in Russian Premier League history (since surpassed by Sergei Semak). 2002 was the first season of the Russian Premier League. While the structure of the competition did not change, the top level clubs gained independence from the Professional Football League. Spartak's six-year dominance in the league was broken by Lokomotiv. Ruslan Karimovich Nigmatullin ( rus, Русла́н Кари́мович Нигмату́ллин, p=rʊˈslan kɐˈrʲiməvʲɪtɕ nʲɪɡmɐˈtulʲɪn, tt-Cyrl, Руслан Кәрим улы Нигъмәтуллин; born 7 October 1974 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Soviet Union) is a retired association footballer of Volga Tatar ethnicity who played goalkeeper and is currently working as a DJ. However, the season was overshadowed by the death of CSKA and Ukraine goalkeeper Serhiy Perkhun, when he clashed heads with Anzhi striker Budun Budunov during the round 22 match against them on 18 August. Both players were injured, and Perkhun died from a brain haemorrhage caused by the collision on 28 August in the age of 23, 10 days after the match against Anzhi. Aleksey Gennadyevich Smertin ( rus, Алексе́й Генна́дьевич Сме́ртин, p=ɐlʲɪkˈsʲej ɡʲɪˈnːadʲɪvʲɪtɕ ˈsʲmʲertʲɪn; born 1 May 1975) is a Russian football official and a former player. Yegor Ilyich Titov (; born 29 May 1976) is a Russian football coach and a former player who played as a midfielder. He was a goal scoring midfielder who usually played in "the hole" between the midfield and attack, as an attacking midfielder.
