Iran was taken out of competition prior to their first match, due to a suspension by FIFA. However, FIFA lifted the suspension on Iran under-23 team on 26 November 2006 so they returned to the original Group D stage. Magid Mohamed ( ar, ماجد محمد; born 1 October 1985) is a Qatari footballer who plays as a midfielder for Al-Shamal. He previously played for Al Sadd and has been regularly called up for the Qatar national football team.
