Football At The 1975 Pan American Games
The seventh edition of the football tournament at the Pan American Games was held in four cities in Mexico: Mexico City (main city of the Games), Guadalajara, Toluca, and Puebla, from October 13 to October 25, 1975. Thirteen teams competed in a round-robin competition, with Argentina defending the title. Estadio Azteca
Estadio Azteca () is a multi-purpose stadium located in Mexico City. It is the official home of football clubs Club América and Cruz Azul as well as the Mexico national football team. The stadium sits at an altitude of above sea level. With an official capacity of 87,523, it is the largest stadium in Mexico and Latin America. The National Football League (NFL) features one game at Estadio Azteca per season as a part of their International Series. Regarded as one of the most famous and iconic football stadiums in the world, it is the first to have hosted two FIFA World Cup Finals; in the 1970 World Cup Final, Brazil defeated Italy 4–1, and in the 1986 World Cup Final, Argentina defeated West Germany 3–2. Mario Carrillo
José Mario Carrillo Zamudio (born 1 February 1956) is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager, and a commentator for television sports channel ESPN Deportes. He also assisted head coach Javier Aguirre with the Mexico national team. Carrillo has also coached Club Puebla, Club América, and Cruz Azul. Playing career Club Born in Mexico City, Carrillo played football for Cruz Azul, Atlético Español, Tigres UANL, Deportivo Neza, Oaxtepec, Puebla and Ángeles de Puebla. Luis Ramírez Zapata
Luis Baltazar Ramírez Zapata (born 6 January 1954) is a retired Salvadoran footballer. Club career Nicknamed ''El Pelé'', he spent nearly 20 years playing for Salvadoran club Águila. He started with Águila, after being recommended by Brazilian technical director Arnaldo Da Silva, under the legendary Juan Francisco Barraza before leaving to join other clubs and later in his career make a return to the San Miguel based club. He also would go on to play for Atlético Marte and Alianza in his homeland El Salvador and spent time abroad playing for Cartaginés in Costa Rica, scoring 11 goals, and Puebla in Mexico. José Norberto Huezo Montoya (born 6 June 1956) is a retired football player from El Salvador who represented his country at the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. Club career Huezo started his career at UES and played for ANTEL before joining Atlético Marte in 1976. He then played in Mexico, but returned to Marte only to try his luck abroad again when he moved to Spanish side Palencia. He also played for Cartagena FC but returned to Marte again in 1985.
