Phnom Penh (; km, ភ្នំពេញ, ) is the capital and most populous city of Cambodia. It has been the national capital since the French protectorate of Cambodia and has grown to become the nation's primate city and its economic, industrial, and cultural centre. Phnom Penh succeeded Angkor Thom as the capital of the Khmer nation but was abandoned several times before being reestablished in 1865 by King Norodom. CNCC League Cup
The Cambodian League Cup previously known as CNCC League Cup is a soccer cup tournament in Cambodia. The Cambodian National Competitions Committee (CNCC) planned to hold the 1st edition of the tournament in 2021. However, it was cancelled during the final stage of tournament due to problems relating to COVID-19. The tournament was brought back by the newly established Cambodian Football League Company in 2022 to ensure players from both divisions are active during 2021 Southeast Asian Games period. Format Entry is open to all teams that compete in the Cambodian League and the Cambodian League 2. Teams will be drawn into 2 groups, and the 1st and 2nd place team from both groups will qualify for the semi-final. The Cambodia women's national football team represents Cambodia in international women's association football and is governed by Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC). While the national federation was founded in 1933 and has received support from Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the development of women's football has been slow with football not the most popular women's sport in the country. The women's first national championship was not held until 2010. The senior team had its first match in June 2018. Operated under the name Khmer Republic from 1970 to 1975, it was founded in 1933 and joined FIFA's ranks in 1953. The Cambodian Super Cup, previously the CNCC Charity Cup, is a super cup tournament in Cambodia played between the winners of the Cambodian Premier League and the Hun Sen Cup. The first edition was played in 2017. Due to the lack of public interest and financial limitation, the cup was put on hiatus for 4 years from 2018 to 2021. The Hun Sen Cup ( km, ពានរង្វាន់សម្តេចហ៊ុន សែន) is a Cambodian knockout football cup competition held annually by the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC). Thirty-five teams participate in the competition as of 2022 season, including all clubs from the Cambodian Premier League and some from the Cambodian League 2. The cup usually starts from February and ends in November, the winner qualifies for the Cambodian Super Cup. Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng are the most successful team in the tournament with four titles. The current holders are Visakha, having beaten Boeung Ket 4–3 in the 2022 final to win their third title.
