Football At The 2023 Pan American Games – Women's Tournament
The Women's football tournament at the 2023 Pan American Games was held in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar from 22 October to 3 November 2023. Qualification A total of eight women's teams qualified to compete at the games, four CONMEBOL teams and four CONCACAF teams. For CONMEBOL, the three teams ranked third to fifth at the 2022 Copa América Femenina qualified, while Chile automatically qualified as hosts; however, Venezuela declined to participate less than a month until the tournament due to lack of release of players by clubs, so Bolivia replaced the country. For CONCACAF, the best team from each of the three zones (North American, Central American and Caribbean) at the 2022 CONCACAF Women's Championship qualified; however, Canada declined to participate due to scheduling issues, so Mexico qualified for the North American berth. Estadio Sausalito
Estadio Sausalito (; Sausalito Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Viña del Mar, Chile. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of CD Everton. The stadium holds 22,360 people, was built in 1929 and completely renovated in 2015. The stadium has hosted the 1962 World Cup, two times the Copa América (1991 and 2015) and a FIFA U-17 World Cup. 2022 CONCACAF W Championship
The 2022 CONCACAF W Championship was the 11th edition of the CONCACAF W Championship, the quadrennial international women's football championship contested by the senior women's national teams of the member associations of CONCACAF, the regional governing body of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Eight teams played in the tournament, which took place from 4 to 18 July 2022 in Mexico. The United States emerged as the winner, defeating Canada 1–0 in the final. The tournament served as the CONCACAF qualifiers to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, as well as for the football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. Verónica Charlyn Corral Ang (born 11 September 1991) is a Mexican footballer who plays as a striker for Liga MX Femenil club CF Pachuca and the Mexico women's national team. Alicia Cervantes Herrera (born 24 January 1994) is a Mexican football forward who currently plays for Liga MX Femenil side Guadalajara.
