Followers Of Wilayat
Followers of Wilayat ( fa, رهروان ولایت; ''Rahrovan Velayat'') was the majority conservative parliamentary group active during the 9th legislature of the Islamic Republic of Iran (2012–2016). Led by Ali Larijani, the fraction intended to become an official political party in 2015 to compete in the 2016 legislative election, however it did not happen and its key members allied with the Pervasive Coalition of Reformists. Positions The Followers' core is principlism and since it takes moderate positions, it has some reformist and independent members, contrary to the rival " Principlists fraction" ( fa, فراکسیون اصولگرایان) which is close to Front of Islamic Revolution Stability. The fraction has generally supported Government of Hassan Rouhani since he took the office, however their member's positions had been diverse on some occasions like the dismissal of Reza Farajidana. Islamic Consultative Assembly
The Islamic Consultative Assembly ( fa, مجلس شورای اسلامی, Majles-e Showrā-ye Eslāmī), also called the Iranian Parliament, the Iranian Majles (Arabicised spelling Majlis) or ICA, is the national legislative body of Iran. The Parliament currently consists of 290 representatives, an increase from the previous 272 seats since the 18 February 2000 election. Wilayi Independents
The Wilayi Independents ( fa, مستقلین ولایی) is a parliamentary group in the 10th legislature of the Islamic Republic of Iran, unofficially led by Ali Larijani. The faction was chaired by Kazem Jalali, who was succeeded by Gholam Ali Jafarzadeh. Though a minority with estimated 80 members, the group is believed to have an advantage in the parliament by shaping a minority influence situation. Composition In the beginning, the reformists whose list elected 125 candidates to the parliament, expected the moderate independents to join them on a majority faction with about 169 members. Reza Faraji-Dana (born 1960 in Qom) is a reformist Iranian politician and the former minister of Science, Research and Technology under President Hassan Rouhani. He served as president of University of Tehran, and as the former president of the Iranian branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Biography Reza Farji-Dana was born in 1960 in Qom and received his math diploma from Hakim Nezami high school in 1978. In the same year, he obtained an admission from the Shiraz University in electrical engineering. The Principlists fraction ( fa, فراکسیون اصولگرایان) was one of the two primary parliamentary groups in the 9th legislature of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the opposition to the majority Followers of Wilayat fraction. A politically conservative group, it had been described as "radical" in comparison to its more moderate rival led by Ali Larijani. According to Ali Afshari, a review of parliamentary decisions made shows that they had about 90 members. They could gain as much as 100 votes in the election for the speaker in May 2012.
