Folkestone Invicta
Folkestone Invicta Football Club is a association football, football club based in Folkestone, Kent, England. They are currently members of the and play at Cheriton Road. History The club was established in 1936 and joined the East Kent Wednesday League for the 1936–37 season. They continued in the league until World War II. In 1962 the club joined the new Division Two of the Eastern Section of the Kent County League, Kent County Amateur League. They won the division at the first attempt, earning promotion to Division One. The club were Division One champions in 1969–70 and were promoted to the Premier Division. However, they were relegated back to Division One at the end of the following season. After finishing as runners-up in Division One in 1976–77, the club were promoted back to the Premier Division. ''Invicta'' is a Latin word meaning undefeated or unconquered. It has been used in mottoes like ''Roma invicta'' (Latin for "Unconquered Rome"), and it is the motto of the county of Kent, England. Theories of origin "''Invicta''" has been a motto for centuries. ''Roma invicta'' is a Latin phrase, meaning "Unconquered Rome", inscribed on a statue in Rome. It was an inspirational motto used until the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD. This symbolic statement was later printed onto gold coins, to help boost the morale of the failing Empire. The English Football League Two (often referred to as League Two for short or Sky Bet League Two for sponsorship purposes, and known as the Football League Two from 2004 until 2016) is the third and lowest division of the English Football League (EFL) and fourth-highest division overall in the English football league system. Margate is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent in south-east England. The 2003–04 Southern Football League season was the 101st in the history of the league, an English football competition. It was the last season for the Southern Football League as a feeder for the Conference Premier. At the end of the season, the Premier Division was replaced as a level 6 league (along with the Northern Premier League Premier Division and Isthmian League Premier Division) by the newly formed Conference North and Conference South. The 2002–03 Southern Football League season was the 100th in the history of the league, an English football competition. Tamworth won the Premier Division and earned promotion to the Football Conference for the first time.
