Folke Herolf
Folke Olof Ragnar Herolf (11 November 1912 – 20 August 1982) was a Swedish Army officer. He served as commanding officer of the Quartermaster Corps of the Swedish Armed Forces from 1968 to 1973. Early life Herolf was born on 11 November 1912 in Hässjö Parish, Timrå Municipality, Sweden, the son of Olof Nilsson, a chief engineer, and his wife Alfhild (née Fliesberg). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Sundsvall in 1932. Career Herolf was commissioned as an officer and assigned as a second lieutenant to Skaraborg Regiment (I 9) in 1936. Herolf passed the quartermaster examination in 1942 after which he served regimental quartermaster in the Life Regiment Hussars (K 3) from 1942 to 1945. He was promoted to captain in 1943 and served in the Army Staff from 1945 to 1948. Folke Rogard
Bror Axel Folke Per Rogard (6 July 1899 – 11 June 1973) was a Swedish lawyer, chess official, player and arbiter. He was born in Stockholm, with the surname Rosengren, and qualified as a lawyer with that name. After a family member was charged with burglary, he changed his name to Rogard and severed all connections with his family. Rogard was vice-president of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), from 1947 to 1949, then succeeded Alexander Rueb as president, a post he held until succeeded by Max Euwe in 1970. He was also chairman of the Swedish Chess Federation from 1947 to 1964. Rogard was granted the International Arbiter title by FIDE in 1951. He could speak five languages. During his senior leadership terms with FIDE, and with the Swedish federation, he was able to arrange for many high-profile chess events to be hosted in Sweden. Lieutenant General Sven Evert Folke Rehnström (3 November 1942 – 1 September 2020) was a senior Swedish Army officer. Rehnström served as Chief of the Joint Forces Directorate from 1998 to 2002. Early life Rehnström was born on 3 November 1942 in Halmstad Parish, Halland County, Sweden. Rehnström graduated from the Military Academy Karlberg in 1967 and was commissioned as an officer the same year in Wendes Artillery Regiment. Career He attended the Artillery Officers' School at the Artillery and Engineering Officers School from 1969 to 1970, and was promoted to captain in 1972. Rehnström attended the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1972 to 1975. Karl Folke Sigvard Mellvig (23 May 1913 in Malmö, Sweden–4 September 1994 in Haninge Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden) was a Swedish writer and screenwriter. Mellvig was one of Sweden's most popular crime writers in the 1950s and 1960s, with murder mysteries set in "peaceful" Swedish summer time; at countryside locations and often in aristocratic or upper-class environments. Folke Bertil Lind (4 April 1913 – 6 February 2001) was a Swedish footballer. He played 16 seasons for GAIS from 1932/33 to 1947/48. Folke Henry Jonsson (9 June 1904 in Ängelholm Sweden - 7 December 1981 in Sollentuna) was a Swedish opera singer who sang leading bass roles primarily at the Royal Swedish Opera and in other Scandinavian opera houses for many years. He also appeared as one of the priests in Ingmar Bergman's film ''The Magic Flute'' (''Trollflöjten'') and as the Herald in Roberto Rossellini's film ''Giovanna d'Arco al rogo''. Folke Johansson Ängel (Latin: Fulco Angelus) (died 1277) was Archbishop of Uppsala. Biography He was ordained by Pope Gregory X in 1274 and was Archbishop of Uppsala until his death in 1277. As archbishop, he crowned King Magnus Ladulås in 1276. Archbishop Ängel is best known for commissioning the moving of the episcopal see from its location in what is now known as Old Uppsala to Östra Aros in Uppsala. Folke Georg "Pytta" Janson (23 April 1897 – 18 July 1965) was a Swedish athlete who specialized in the triple jump. He competed at the 1920 and 1924 Olympics and finished in second and fifth place, respectively.
