Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Agios Vasileios, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of . Population 3,266 (2011). The seat of the municipality was in Sellia. Rethymno () is one of the four regional units of Crete, Greece. Its capital is the city of Rethymno. Today its main income is tourism. The countryside is also based economically on agriculture and herding. Administration The regional unit Rethymno is subdivided into 5 municipalities. The ''Government Gazette'' ( el, Εφημερίς της Κυβερνήσεως, translit=Efimeris tis Kyverniseos, translit-std=ISO, lit=Government Gazette) is the official journal of the Government of Greece which lists all laws passed in a set time period ratified by Cabinet and President. Phoenix or Phoinix ( gr, Φοίνιξ) was the name of two towns in ancient Crete, both situated on the south coast. One is mentioned in the Bible in the ''Acts of the Apostles'' regarding the voyage of the ship that was taking Paul the Apostle to Rome as a prisoner, where it is said that it was a port.
