''Fogo sobre Terra'' is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by TV Globo. It premiered on 8 May 1974 and ended on 4 January 1975, with a total of 209 episodes in Black and white. It's the fourteenth "novela das oito" to be aired on the timeslot. It is created and written by Janete Clair and directed by Walter Avancini and Daniel Filho. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Lourdinha Bittencourt
Lourdinha Bittencourt (née Maria de Lourdes Bittencourt; October 30, 1923 – August 19, 1979) was a Brazilian actress and singer who took part in the musical ensemble Trio de Ouro from 1952 to 1957, replacing the lead singer Dalva de Oliveira. She also appeared in telenovelas such as ''Rosa Rebelde'' (1969), ''Véu de Noiva'' (1969), ''Irmãos Coragem,'' (1970), '' Selva de Pedra'' (1972), ''Fogo sobre Terra'' (1974), and in films such as '' Poeira de Estrelas'' (1948), ''É Proibido Sonhar'' (1944) and ''Obrigado, Doutor'' (1948). Ada Chaseliov (March 30, 1952 – October 27, 2015) was a Brazilian film, stage, and television actress. Life Chaseliov was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1952. She studied at drama school before her film debut in 1973 in ''Um virgem na praça''. In 1974, she made her first appearance on TV in the telenovela ''Supermanoela''.
