An animation studio is a company producing animated media. The broadest such companies conceive of products to produce, own the physical equipment for production, employ operators for that equipment, and hold a major stake in the sales or rentals of the media produced. They also own rights over merchandising and creative rights for characters created/held by the company, much like authors holding copyrights. In some early cases, they also held patent rights over methods of animation used in certain studios that were used for boosting productivity. Eric Fogel
Eric Fogel (born May 11, 1969) is an American director, writer, animator, producer, and voice actor who is best known as the creator of ''Celebrity Deathmatch''. He also created cult shows '' The Head'', ''Starveillance'' and ''Glenn Martin, DDS''. Fogel also directed several episodes of ''Daria''. Early life Fogel graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1991 with a BFA in Film/TV. During his time there he created his first animated film, titled ''Mutilator: Hero of the Wasteland'', a film which one professor cited as being "inappropriate due to its violent content." Mutilator would go on to win NYU's Award of Excellence in Animation and became a cult favorite of Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation. Fogel continued to produce animated shorts, including a sequel to his Mutilator short. ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' is an adult stop-motion claymated series created by Eric Fogel and produced by John Worth Lynn Jr. for MTV. A parody of sports entertainment programs, ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' depicted various celebrities engaging in highly stylized professional wrestling matches. The series was known for its large amount of gory violence, including combatants employing different abilities and weapons to deliver particularly brutal attacks, resulting in exaggerated physical injuries. Two television pilots were broadcast on MTV on January 1 and 25, 1998. The series properly premiered on May 14, 1998, and ended on June 6, 2002, airing for 93 episodes. Nicktoons Film Festival
The Nicktoons Film Festival (also known as the Nicktoons Network Animation Festival) was an annual event that was created by producer Fred Seibert and produced for its first three years by his Frederator Studios. The festival featured a selection of animated shorts (10 minutes and under) from around the world. Shorts selected for the festival had the chance to be aired on Nicktoons Network, online and to be showcased at a live event in Los Angeles in October. Several prizes were awarded each year. Animators under 18 years old were eligible to enter the Greater Creator Contest. 2009 was the final season of the festival. ''Starveillance'' is a claymation television series created by ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' creator Eric Fogel that debuted on January 5, 2007, on E!. The show is produced by Toronto-based Cuppa Coffee Studios. Fogel chose not to work on his revived MTV hit ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' in order to spend more time working on this show. The series became available on Peacock. Show The show parodies celebrity situations through stop-motion animation. The show is hosted by Glen and Corey, who hide video cameras all over the world to tape celebrities in their private moments. Episodes Response The response from critics was mostly positive.
