''Flowers'' is the third album by the Swedish pop music group Ace of Base. It was released on 15 June 1998 in Europe, Asia, and Africa, and 10 August 1998 in the United Kingdom. An alternative album titled '' Cruel Summer'', was released in the USA and Canada, containing remixes, re-recordings, and new songs deemed appropriate for an American audience. Japan and Australia received hybrid versions of the two albums. The album was re-issued in the UK on 26 April 1999 with revised artwork and tracklisting, following the single release of "Everytime It Rains". Cecilia (Ace Of Base Song)
"Cecilia" is a song from Ace of Base's third record titled ''Flowers''. It was released as a single in Italy and Spain in the spring of 1999. The song was written as a continuation of the song of the same name by Simon & Garfunkel. A standard disc single was never made commercially available, however, a 12" vinyl record was released in Italy featuring previously unreleased remixes. The song was released promotionally in Spain alongside "Travel To Romantis". Critical reception Swedish newspaper ''Aftonbladet'' picked "Cecilia" as one of Ace of Base's songs "that are going to be hits". Billy Steinberg
William Endfield Steinberg (born February 26, 1950) is an American songwriter. He achieved his greatest success in the 1980s with songwriting partner Tom Kelly; together they wrote or co-wrote the No. 1 hits " Like a Virgin" by Madonna (1984), " True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper (1986), "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles (1989), "So Emotional" by Whitney Houston (1987) and " Alone" (covered by Heart in 1987). John Ballard (record Producer)
John Ballard (born 14 April 1951) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he has a recording studio (Tuff Studios). At Tuff Studios he has produced amongst others, Ace of Base (their first three albums), as well as co-writing some of their songs. Discography Ballard has also written songs for the Eurovision Song Contest and also performed twice in the Swedish qualification rounds of ESC in the 1980s: Other projects Ballard founded the successful Scandinavian band Bubbles (band), Bubbles and wrote and recorded most of their songs. Jenny Cecilia Petrén, (née Berggren; born 19 May 1972), professionally known as Jenny Berggren and Jenny from Ace of Base is a Swedish mezzo-soprano singer and former lead singer in the Swedish pop band Ace of Base. Keren Jane Woodward (born 2 April 1961) is an English singer and, with Sara Dallin and Siobhan Fahey, a founding member of the girl group Bananarama. In 1986, the trio reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with their version of "Venus". Woodward and Dallin are the only constant members of Bananarama, and both have been a part of the group for over 40 years since 1979. Early life Woodward is a classically-trained pianist; she sang in choirs and performed in amateur dramatics with Dallin, whom she has known since childhood. Michael Donald Chapman (born 13 April 1947) is an Australian-American record producer and songwriter who was a major force in the British pop music industry in the 1970s. He created a string of hit singles for artists including The Sweet, Suzi Quatro, Smokie, Mud and Racey with business partner Nicky Chinn, creating a sound that became identified with the "Chinnichap" brand. "Always Have Always Will" is a 1998 song by Swedish pop band Ace of Base. Heavily inspired by the Motown sound of the mid-1960s, the intro samples the intros from the Supremes track "Where Did Our Love Go" and the Four Tops track "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)".
