Flowermouth
''Flowermouth'' is the second studio album by British duo No-Man, released in 1994 on the One Little Indian Records label, and subsequently reissued on September, 1999 by 3rd. Stone Ltd, and in a deluxe format by Snapper Music in February 2005. History Flowermouth was considered the band's most ambitious album to date, and remains a fan favourite. Despite being the band's best selling release, it was obvious by now that No-Man couldn't continue along the path which their record company wanted them to follow. Following ''Flowermouths release, No-Man parted company with both One Little Indian in Britain and Epic/Sony in the US. Long-term band member Ben Coleman had left prior to the album's release and by 1994, the band had effectively retired from live performance. Considered a vitally important evolution, the album realized the expansive promise of the band's earlier material. Combining dream pop, art rock and moody minimalism, with an epic orchestral scope, ''Flowermouth'' was ...

No-Man
No-Man are an English art pop duo, formed in 1987 as No Man Is an Island (Except the Isle of Man) by singer Tim Bowness and multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson. The band has so far produced seven studio albums and a number of singles/outtakes collections (most notably, 2006's career retrospective, ''All the Blue Changes''). The band was once lauded as "conceivably the most important English group since The Smiths" by ''Melody Maker'' music newspaper, and a 2017 article of '' Drowned in Sound'' described them as "probably the most underrated band of the last 25 years". Originally creating a sample-based proto-trip hop/ ambient/ electropop-styled music, No-Man has pursued a more organic, diverse and band-oriented sound in subsequent years. Drawing from a diverse mix of singer-songwriter, post rock, minimalist, progressive rock, jazz and contemporary ambient sources for inspiration, No-Man's musical style is distinctive yet difficult to categorise. History Formation (1986–1989 ...

Wild Opera
''Wild Opera'' is No-Man's third studio album which displays art rock, trip hop and dub influences that were developed from improvisatory writing sessions. History In 1996, No-Man announced their return on a new label, 3rd Stone Ltd., home of Spacemen 3 and Bark Psychosis. This was led by the ''Housewives Hooked on Heroin'' single (a ''Hot Press'' "Single of the Fortnight"), a taster for the ''Wild Opera'' album which followed that autumn. Most of the album had emerged from a series of semi-spontaneous improvisations recorded over a few hours, rather than planned-out attempts at songwriting. The raw results of three such sessions appeared on the album. The title track itself is unlisted and appears as a 'hidden' bonus track. ''Dry Cleaning Ray'' One of the ''Wild Opera'' tracks -"Dry Cleaning Ray"- was released as a single in 1997. It also spawned the '' Dry Cleaning Ray'' mini-album. ''Dry Cleaning Ray'' presented reworked ''Wild Opera'' material, Gainsbourg covers, remixe ...

Flame (Richard Barbieri And Tim Bowness Album)
"Flame" is the only album recorded by the duo of singer/lyricist Tim Bowness (No-Man) and keyboard player Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree), released in 1994. The two men met when Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson (also of Porcupine Tree) invited Richard Barbieri (along with Mick Karn and Steve Jansen) to join the live line-up of Bowness and Wilsons's band No-Man. Apart from Wilson, Karn and Jansen, "Flame" also features appearances by drummers Chris Maitland and Gavin Harrison (formerly and currently of Porcupine Tree respectively). Also appearing is guitarist Michael Bearpark, from Bowness's Samuel Smiles band. The title track of the album is a reworked version (with lyrics and vocal melody written by Bowness) of a Barbieri-penned instrumental called "Long Tales, Tall Shadows", which appeared on the Jansen and Barbieri 1991 album ''Stories Across Borders''. In the same vein, "Song of Love and Everything" heavily draws from "Lumen", another song from that same album that was wri ...

Returning Jesus
''Returning Jesus'' is the fourth studio album by British art rock band No-Man, released on the 3rd Stone records in 27 March 2001. History A collection of ambitious songs which combined classical, jazz, soul and ambient influences in an original and emotional way, the album received good reviews in '' Q'', ''Uncut'' and ''Classic rock''. Additionally, having signed to Lava/ WEA, the increasing profile of Steven Wilson's work with Porcupine Tree brought the No-Man name to a new audience. One of the guest musicians on the album was Porcupine Tree's Colin Edwin, who played double bass. Unusually, the tracks "All That You Are" and "Carolina Skeletons" were released as singles, in the first case two years after the album's release (February 2003) and in the latter three years prior to it (October 1998). In August 2006, the album was released in a limited edition triple vinyl format on the Dutch label, Tonefloat. This edition included outtakes, demos and b-sides taken from the re ...

Deletion (music Industry)
Deletion is a music industry term referring to the removal of a record or records from a label's official catalog, so that it is out of print, but usually at a record artist's request. Process Deletion can be for a variety of reasons, but usually reflects a decline in sales so that distributing the record is no longer profitable. Singles are routinely deleted after a period of weeks, but an album by a major artist may remain in the catalog indefinitely. When titles are deleted in the US, the remaining stock would be defaced with a cut-out through the sleeve or case. Cut-out records formed a grey market outside the major distribution channels. In the 1993 book ''Stiffed: A True Story of MCA, the Music Business, and the Mafia'' Bill Knoedelseder wrote of how MCA Records became the subject of a federal investigation of its cut-out sales practices after a deal allegedly involving organized crime. Effects Deletion in the music industry differs from print publishing in that recording c ...
