It is used for football (soccer), football matches, as the home ground of 2. divisjon team Florø SK, and for track and field meets by Florø TIF. The attendance record at Florø Stadion is 2,710 and was set in the 2016 2. divisjon match against Nest-Sotra Fotball, Nest-Sotra on 15 October 2016. Florø won the game 2–0 and secured the team their first ever promotion to the 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. Florø
is a town and the administrative centre of the municipality of Kinn, Vestland, Norway. The town was founded by royal decree in 1860 as a ladested on the island of Florelandet, located between the Botnafjorden and Solheimsfjorden. Florø is Norway's (and thus the Scandinavian Peninsula's) westernmost town. It is the most western town on the mainland in the Nordic countries. The town has a population (2018) of 9,024 and a population density of . The town encompasses the entire island of Florelandet and the western half of the island of Brandsøya. Kinn is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It was established on 1 January 2020. It is in the traditional districts of Nordfjord and Sunnfjord. The municipality is the only non-contiguous municipality in Norway since the municipality of Bremanger lies in between the north and south parts of Kinn. The administrative centres of the municipality is the two cities of Florø and Måløy. Some villages in the municipality include Rognaldsvåg, Stavang, Grov, Norddalsfjord, Nyttingnes, Steinhovden, Brandsøy, Deknepollen, Holvika, Kvalheim, Langeneset, Raudeberg, Refvika, Silda, Tennebø, Vedvika, and Vågsvåg. Florø SK
Florø Sportsklubb is a Norwegian sports club from the town of Florø in the municipality of Kinn, Vestland, Norway. It has sections for association football, team handball and swimming. The club was founded in 1912 as Florø FK. Florø FK was later incorporated into Florø-Varg, founded in 1929. In 1945 Florø-Varg merged with Atgeir, a worker's football club founded in 1931, to form Florø SK. Men's football Florø Stadion is their home field. Their team colors are blue and black. Nest-Sotra Fotball is a Norwegian association football club from Sotra, Hordaland. In 2020, their elite license was taken over by the new club Øygarden FK, which is a cooperation between Øygarden clubs Nordre Fjell, Sund SK, Skogsvåg IL, Telavåg IL, Skjergard IL and Nest-Sotra. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. The administrative centre of the county is the city of Bergen, where the executive and political leadership is based, but the County Governor is based in Hermansverk.
