Bobby Florsheim
Robert Florsheim (born December 19, 1969) is an American screenwriter, best known for co-writing ''The Passion Of The Ark'' with Josh Stolberg, (the basis for the film "Evan Almighty"). Their original script was reported by Daily Variety as the highest priced spec script ever sold by unproduced screenwriters (April, 2004). In refashioning the script into "Evan Almighty", Universal Studios discarded the script and then hired screenwriter Steve Oedekerk, who received sole writing credit on the finished film. He also co-wrote the scripts for ''Man-Witch'' (starring Jack Black and directed by Todd Phillips), the book adaptation of '' The Spellman Files'', produced by Laura Ziskin, as well as a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's "To Catch a Thief". In addition, Florsheim has written scripts for Steven Spielberg, Mike Myers, Michael Keaton, Jerry Bruckheimer, John Davis, Bette Midler, and others. Harold Florsheim House
The Harold Florsheim House is a historic house at 650 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, Illinois. The house was built in 1925–28 for businessman Harold M. Florsheim, who later became the president of Florsheim Shoes. Chicago architect Ernest Grunsfeld, who went on to design the Adler Planetarium, designed the house in the French Chateau style. The house includes a gable above the entrance, a multi-story three-sided bay window, casement windows, and a hip roof broken by dormers. Landscape architect Jens Jensen designed the house's grounds, making use of a ravine on the property to instill a sense of privacy. Lillian Florsheim ( – ) was a sculptor whose work was displayed in the Art Institute of Chicago and museums in Washington D.C. and New Orleans, LA. Early life and education Lillian Hyman was born on in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clara Newman and Harris Hyman. Hyman was one of four children, with sisters Nettie and Claire and a brother, Harris Hyman, Jr. She attended Smith College in Massachusetts and graduated in 1916. In 1918, Hyman married Irving Florsheim, a navy officer and heir (along with his brother, Harold) to the Florsheim Shoe Company. The Florsheims had two children, Nancy Goldberg née Florsheim, restaurant owner and manager whom married artist Bertrand Goldberg and Mary Florsheim Picking, who was married to actor Allan Jones. Florsheim Shoes is a shoe brand in the United States. History Florsheim & Co. was founded in 1892 by Milton S. Florsheim. He and his father Sigmund Florsheim made the first shoes in Chicago. Eventually, some stores were owned by and selling only Florsheim. By 1930, Florsheim was making women's shoes and had five Chicago factories and 2500 employees, with 71 stores partly or entirely company-owned and 9000 stores around the US selling Florsheims. Milton Florsheim died and was succeeded by his son Irving in 1936. His younger son Harold became president in 1946 as the elder brother became chairman. In 1953, International Shoe Company, the world's largest shoe maker, bought Florsheim for $21 million. Three years later, Florsheim became a division, operating as a separate entity.
