State Road 331 (SR 331) is a short state highway running south and east of Gainesville, although it once stretched as far south as Williston. It also serves as a truck route for State Roads 24, 26, and 121 and US 441. Despite skirting the Gainesville City Limits, SR 331 runs north and south as a four-lane divided rural highway. Route description SR 331 begins at SR 121 east of Interstate 75 (I-75) at exit 382, when SR 121 makes a sharp left turn from Southwest Williston Road onto Southwest 34th Street. Like the segment that's part of SR 121, it runs southeast and northwest until it curves directly west and east before approaching U.S. Route 441 (US 441; Southwest 13th Street). State Road 24 (SR 24) is an east–west state highway that runs between Cedar Key on the Gulf of Mexico and Waldo, Florida, at US 301. State Road 24 runs along a former branch of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. This branch was originally owned by the Florida Railway and Navigation Company, and used to lead to ferries to both Pensacola, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. It also passes through Rosewood, site of the infamous 1923 massacre. The 1945 renumbering removed many roads that were never built and added some that had not existed prior to 1945. State Road 121 (SR 121) is a major state highway that runs north and south in northern Florida. The road is part of a long multi-state route that also goes through Georgia and South Carolina. Route description SR 121 is one of the major routes of a three-state highway 121 that totals approximately 475 miles (764 km) from Lebanon Station, Florida, to Rock Hill, South Carolina. Beginning in Lebanon Station at a channelized intersection with US 19/ US 98 and County Road 336 (CR 336) in Levy County, SR 121 travels through Goethe State Forest where it turns east and intersects CR 337. Morningside Nature Center
Morningside Nature Center is a 416-acre nature park located in Gainesville, Alachua County in the U.S. state of Florida and overseen by the City of Gainesville. It features a living history farm meant to simulate a North Florida family homestead from the mid to late 1800s. The farm includes an original Florida Cracker cabin built by Irish immigrants around 1840, which was moved to Morningside in 1976. The farm also features a one-room schoolhouse, along with newer farm buildings constructed as authentically as possible and a cash crop field that grows period-appropriate crops like corn, sugarcane, and cotton. The livestock on the farm are heritage breed and period appropriate to the time period. Visitors can view a Jersey cow, Ossabaw Island hogs, Dorking roosters and hens, and Gulf Coast sheep. The Matheson History Museum Complex is located in Gainesville, Florida. It includes the Matheson History Museum, the Matheson Library & Archives, the 1867 Matheson House, and the Tison Tool Barn. Route description The western terminus of SR 26 is at US 19/ 98/ 27 Alternate (unsigned SR 55) in Fanning Springs, near the Gilchrist/Levy county line. The route proceeds east through Trenton where it is named West Wade Street and East Wade Street, then into Alachua County and Newberry as West Newberry Road, where it briefly runs through the city's historic district.
