State Road 289 (SR 289), known locally as North 9th Avenue, is a north–south major thoroughfare in Pensacola, Florida. Route description SR 289 begins at U.S. Route 98 (US 98), US 98 Business (US 98 Bus.), and unsigned SR 30 in Pensacola, east of the Pensacola Bay Center. At this point, US 98 Bus. and SR 30 head west and US 98 and SR 30 head east on the one-way pair of East Chase Street eastbound and East Gregory Street westbound. The southern terminus of SR 289 also serves as the eastern terminus of US 98 Bus. From here, SR 289 heads north as an unsigned highway that is concurrent with US 98 on four-lane undivided North 9th Avenue. The road passes through commercial areas, crossing a CSX railroad line. The Port of Pensacola is an operational deep-water port located on Pensacola Bay. With origins dating back to 1743, it is now one of the City of Pensacola's Enterprise Operations, having been incorporated in 1943 as the Municipal Port Authority. SR 30 (FL)
State Road 30 (SR 30) is the mostly hidden Florida Department of Transportation designation for most of US 98 from the Florida-Alabama state line to east of Perry, Florida. In a 14-mile-long stretch west of Panama City, US 98 and SR 30 are separated by less than one mile (1.6 km), with SR 30 on Front Beach Road along the shore of the Gulf of Mexico in Hollywood Beach, Laguna Beach, and Panama City Beach, and US 98 inland (as unsigned State Road 30A) along Panama City Beach Parkway bypassing the beach communities. In 2009, the Florida DOT began signing Front Beach Road as SR 30, and removed US 98 Alt signs. State Road 742 (SR 742) is a east–west state highway serving Pensacola, Florida. It is both a commuter road and a bypass route that also provides access (via Ninth Avenue/ SR 289 and Airport Boulevard/ SR 750) for motorists to Pensacola International Airport. Locally known as Burgess Road and Creighton Boulevard, SR 742 stays within a mile south of Interstate 10 (I-10 or SR 8) from the state road's western terminus at U.S. Route 29 (US 29 or SR 95) near Ensley to SR 742's eastern terminus at US 90 in Pensacola. Pensacola State College (PSC), formerly Pensacola Junior College, is a public college in Pensacola, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System. Locally known as Airport Boulevard, State Road 750 (SR 750) is a spur from Ninth Avenue in Pensacola to the entrance of Pensacola International Airport. The western terminus is an intersection with Pensacola Boulevard (U.S. Route 29 or US 29 and SR 95). Since the state of Florida renumbered its Florida State Roads in 1945, a grid system of designation was imposed. Cordova Mall, located in Pensacola, Florida, is the largest shopping center on the northwest Gulf Coast of Florida. Opened in 1971 and renovated twice, in 1987 and 2008/2009, Cordova Mall comprises of commercial property, with two major and six junior anchor stores. Five are situated in the mall ( Dillard's, Belk, Dick's Sporting Goods, Old Navy, and Ross Dress for Less), and three are located in an open-air atmosphere ( Best Buy, Bed, Bath and Beyond and World Market).
