FIU Panthers football program represents Florida International University (FIU) in the sport of American football. The Panthers compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the East Division of Conference USA (CUSA). The Panthers' head coach is Mike MacIntyre. FIU has produced a Sun Belt Conference co-championship team in 2010, along with 3 postseason bowl appearances. Mike MacIntyre
George Michael MacIntyre (born March 14, 1965) is an American football coach. He is the head coach at FIU. MacIntyre served as the head football coach at San Jose State University from 2010 to 2013 and the University of Colorado Boulder from 2013 to 2018. MacIntyre began his coaching career in 1990 as a graduate assistant at Georgia. From 1992 to 2002, MacIntyre held various assistant coaching positions at Davidson, UT Martin, Temple, and Ole Miss. From 2003 to 2007, MacIntyre was an assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL), first as defensive backs coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2006 and then in the same position with the New York Jets in 2007. Chandler Williams III (August 9, 1985 – January 5, 2013) was an American football wide receiver who last played as a member of the Tampa Bay Storm. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida International. Antwan Edward Barnes (born October 19, 1984) is a former American football outside linebacker. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Riccardo Silva Stadium is a college football and soccer stadium on the campus of Florida International University (FIU) in Westchester, Florida. It is home stadium of the FIU Panthers football team and the Miami FC soccer team from the USL Championship. The stadium opened in 1995 and has a seating capacity of 20,000.
