Florbal MB (Předvýběr.CZ Florbal Mladá Boleslav after its sponsor) is a floorball team based in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. The current club was formed in 2003 by merging ''FbK Mladá Boleslav'' (1999) and ''Sokol Mladá Boleslav'' (1998). The men's team have played in the highest Czech floorball league, Superliga florbalu, since the season 2004–05, after being promoted from a lower league. With three titles in the 2017–18, 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons, it is the third most successful team of the league, after Tatran Střešovice and 1. SC Vítkovice. The team was only fourth one to win a title, and the first one that started in a lower league. The team also won three second places, in the seasons 2014–15, 2016–17, and 2018–19. Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). As of 2019, there were about 377,000 registered floorball players worldwide, up from around 300,000 in 2014. Mladá Boleslav (; german: Jungbunzlau) is a city in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 42,000 inhabitants. Tatran Střešovice
Tatran Střešovice (Tatran Teka Střešovice after its sponsor) is a floorball team based in Prague, Czech Republic. The team was founded in 1991. The men's team have played in the highest Czech floorball league, Superliga florbalu, since its foundation in 1993. Until the 2011–12 season, the team was the dominant team of the league, winning all titles, except for the 1995–96, 1996–97, 1999–00, and 2008–09 seasons. Overall, the team won 17 titles, the last time in 2022–23 season. It makes it the most successful Czech men floorball team. Women's team also play the highest Czech floorball league, Extraliga žen ve florbale. The team won the first five seasons of the league.
