Flood Of Santa Teresa
The flood of Santa Teresa took place on 15 October 1879 due to an overflow of the Segura river and resulted in more than 1000 deaths and heavy material damage. It is the worst recorded flood in Murcia history. The flood The rainfall that caused the flood was extremely heavy. It is estimated that at the head of the Guadalentín, 600 mm fell in just one hour. This river reached a flow in Lorca of 1450 m³/s, overflowing and causing great damage throughout its basin. An alluvial plain is a largely flat landform created by the deposition of sediment over a long period of time by one or more rivers coming from highland regions, from which alluvial soil forms. A floodplain is part of the process, being the smaller area over which the rivers flood at a particular period of time, whereas the alluvial plain is the larger area representing the region over which the floodplains have shifted over geological time. Tomasa Ortiz Real
Tomasa Ortiz Real (12 November 1842 – 26 February 1916) was a Spanish Roman Catholic professed religious who founded the Salesian Sisters of the Sacred Heart and assumed the religious name of "Piedad of the Cross" upon becoming a nun. Real's religious vocation blossomed during her late childhood following the reception of her First Communion though a range of impediments prevented her from embracing the religious life. She soon realized her dream and became a professed nun while devoting her time to the care of the ill and orphaned children while using her order's resources to expand her work. The beatification for Real was presided in Saint Peter's Square on 21 March 2004 with Pope John Paul II presiding over the celebration. Librilla is a Spanish village in the Murcia region. It had a population of 4614 in 2010 and an area of 56 km2. It's placed in both sides of the Orón river. Lorca () is a municipality and city in the autonomous community of the Region of Murcia in south-eastern Spain, southwest of the city of Murcia. Segura River
Segura (, ; la, Thader; ar, شقورة, Shaqūrah, or ) is a medium-sized river in southeastern Spain. It has its source in the Sierra de Segura. Course The river begins at Santiago Pontones ( province of Jaén), passes Calasparra, Cieza, Blanca, Murcia, Beniaján (Region of Murcia), , Orihuela, Rojales and flows into the Mediterranean Sea near Guardamar del Segura in the province of Alicante. Orihuela (; ca-valencia, Oriola ) is a city and municipality located at the feet of the Sierra de Orihuela mountains in the province of Alicante, Spain.
