Hilda Flodin
Hilda Flodin (16 March 1877 – 9 March 1958) was a Finnish artist. She worked in a variety of media, but in the first part of her career primarily sculpture and etchings, later primarily painting, especially portraits. Life and career Flodin was born in Helsinki into a family with musical and artistic interests. Her mother was the sister of Ida Basilier-Magelssen. She came from a family of 9 and one of her sisters, Fanny, became a pianist. The composer Karl Flodin was her cousin. She began her art studies in 1893 when she was 16 at the Drawing School of the Finnish Art Society in Helsinki, now the Academy of Fine Arts, where her teachers included Albert Gebhard, Elin Danielson and Maria Wiik, and in sculpture Johan Friedl and Carl Eneas Sjöstrand, but in later life she particularly recalled Helene Schjerfbeck. She won an award at the end of her first year in 1897, placing third in the Society's annual prize contest for young artists, and in 1903 she took second place. Af ...

Louise Flodin
Louise Charlotta Kristiana Flodin, née ''Söderqvist'' (17 September 1828 – 20 March 1923), was a Swedish journalist, typographer, feminist and publisher. She was seen as the first woman in Sweden to be given a newspaper licence. Life Flodin was born in Örebro, were her mother managed a school. Originally a teacher in her mother's school, she became an apprentice at a printing shop in 1856, and educated herself in typography, then unusual for a woman. She bought a printing press in Arboga in 1858, and started to publish the ''Arboga Tidning'' (Arboga Paper), which had one number a week. In the beginning, she was the only employee of her paper and performed all the tasks. She employed only women to the paper: this was deliberate, because she wished to educate females to become typographers and journalists and thereby make the profession more available to them. May-Louise Flodin (5 September 1934 – 4 February 2011) was a Swedish model and beauty queen who won the Miss World Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss Int ... contest in 1952, representing of Sweden. She was the second winner, and was crowned by her predecessor, Kiki Håkansson, also from Sweden.
She died on 4 February 2011.
